"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
~Obi-Wan
Heavy fog coated the soft ground and shimmered where small patches of light found their way through the dense trees overhead. Azalea treaded carefully through the mist, and it swirled around her bare feet every time she took a step, clearing a path a few steps behind her until the fog returned to cover her tracks. She approached a large open area where the ground was clear, but the canopy tree leaves thickened above her, cutting off the sun so that the only source of light came from a soft glow in the middle of the clearing.
Azalea felt drawn to the light, and as the figure gained more definition, she felt a strong connection to the man that stood in front of her. The ground around him was clear of mist and he smiled at her with affection.
"You've come a long way, Kenna."
"Who are you?"
"Ask me who I was." She shifted her weight and took one more step forward.
"Okay, who were you then?" Warmth covered his features as he smiled again.
"I think you already know." He nodded to her. "Search your feelings, daughter of light." She looked deep within herself for the answers she sought, and her eyes widened when she found them.
"Your name is Obi-Wan Kenobi." He nodded.
"And what else?"
"You're my grandfather."
"Very good," he chuckled. "I'm so proud of what you've become, even under the circumstances you've faced, you have never strayed." The corners of Azalea's mouth turned up slightly, but she became aware that the mist in the clearing had started swirling around them slowly, like wolves circling their prey, and it began looking like a vortex with the two of them in the center. The mist slowly started to rise.
"However, your faith is about to be tested like never before."
The fog reached above their heads now, and it became harder to see her grandfather as the wind started to pick up.
"Everything is about to change around you, for the better or worse, and you must find a way to quiet your mind, even in the midst of the most difficult trials. The light will be your only refuge." He was yelling now to be heard over the turmoil raging around them. Azalea had to go down on her knees to keep from being swept up with the wind.
"How will I know what to do? I barely even have any training!"
"You already know, everything you need is already inside of you. Stop doubting yourself and just LET GO!"
Air flooded Azalea's lungs as she woke up with a gasp, long enough to see a flash of gold and red before she fell back into a deep, dreamless sleep.
When she woke up again, she was laying on a hard, cold surface in the corner of a dark room that looked like a centuries old prison cell. Am I even on Naboo? She speculated. Her cloak was missing, but that was the least of her problems. She winced at the throbbing in her head that sitting up caused and slowly stood to examine the barred door that stood between her and a set of stairs. The sound of a heavy door opening and closing, along with a pair of feet clunking down the stairs toward her cell caused her to step backward into the middle of her small room. When she glanced to her left, she realized that she wasn't alone.
