Sal went over to Brian's house, seeing him passed out on the couch. Thank God he was already on his stomach. He wasn't the lightest of people to flip over. Sal went into the kitchen and grabbed some rubber gloves then started to pick up the beer bottles and cans, tossing them in a trash bag. He sighed, his best friend was a train wreck. After another full bag of bottles and cans went out to the trash can, Sal started to clean up the rest of the house. All this cleaning was actually calming him down. He heard Brian started to stir and went to his side. "Hey man."
Brian groaned in response, sitting up slowly while holding his head. "What's up? Ugh, besides this headache... man, I wonder how badly the hangover's gonna be this time tomorrow - not looking forward to that."
"Brian, what the hell are you talking about? You are never sober long enough to even feel anything." Sal chastised.
"Fuck you Sal. What the hell are you doing here anyways? Did my Mom send you over to check up on her fucked up son. Well, I'm just fucking fine and dandy, thanks for asking Mr. Shithead." Brian snarled.
"Really Brian, resorting to name calling - what are we five? For your information, no one sent me over here. I just stopped by to visit my best friend, just like old times. Oh, I also went over to see Beth and Jessa. I've gotta say Brian, Bella's amazing and boy - she looks just like you in female form of course." Sal boasted, as he went to get his best friend a glass of water and two aspirin.
"Why'd you go and see Beth for? You're ruining everything for me! Now I'll never get my sweet Bella back." Brian yelled at Sal.
"I am not Brian. I really went over there to see Jessa mostly which crashed and burned on me. Beth and Bella were there so I talked to them and held the baby." Sal shrugged, watching Brian take the aspirin.
"What the fuck, you got to hold my kid before me. That's bullshit!" Brian bellowed.
"I'm sorry, I didn't ask Beth offered." Sal said defensively.
"Doesn't matter, you're a traitor Mr. Shithead. You're not even my best friend anymore." Brian retorted.
"Come on Brian, you've got to stop this drinking." Sal began his life saving speech. He was so worried about his best friend's health at this point. He hoped he could knock some sense into him before it was too late.
"I won't, it's all I have left." Brian huffed, folding his arms in front of him.
"But you're killing yourself..." Sal interjected before Brian cut him off.
"I am not." Brian argued, an annoyed expression now gracing his features. "I wouldn't kill myself if that's what you're worried about, why would I leave my sweet Bella without her Father. She needs me, once I can convince her Mom to stop being such a bitch over this whole mess with Cassie and my son." Brian in his drunken state just carried on, not even giving Sal a chance to answer. "I wish somebody understood what I went through. Sal - you've been fucking different women for years. Did you ever have that one girl that drove you wild in bed? Well I have now, the sex with Cassie was amazing. It was so different from the same mundane thing I was used to. It was stupid but I stayed over that. I stopped looking after a few days for Beth, I thought she was dead so I stayed for some great piece of ass, that cost me my girlfriend and my daughter. Fuck Sal, the best thing that came out of that whole shitty situation was my son. God damn it, I wanted to marry Beth but Cassie just had to blow up my life. Ah, at least the head was good." Brian sighed, leaning over and picking up a picture of he and Beth during much happier times, staring at it.
Sal was beyond frustrated with Brian at that point, he just let his pent up anger go as he blew up at Brian.
"Give up on Beth, she's never going to take you back and this drinking yourself into a stupor isn't helping anything!" Sal argued back, he himself was starting to get pissed off at Brian's logic of the situation he was involved in between these two women.
