I sat next to Tommy while Robert performed his scenes. We watched intently as I once again listened to some music. "All alone" by The Gorillaz.
"Robert was pissed when he came on set Andie. I assume you got in his face about breaking your sunglasses?" He whispered in my ear. He knew me so well.
"Yeah, the other make-up artist said that's the only time she's seen anyone do that to him." I say, shuffling my fingers.
"Oh, Natalie? That's surprising, because she's worked on every single Iron Man movie. Andie... Apologize." Tommy muttered.
"Tommy, I'm going to. I feel kinda bad." I reply. He laughs. He laughed.
"Since when do you feel bad for ANYTHING?" He asked.
I simply shrugged and just started jamming to my tunes. Finally, after they had wrapped up the scene, everyone slowly began trickling away. I noticed Robert leave in a huff. Good thing his scene was a fighting scene, because he was definitely in the mood for a fight. Tommy nodded at me and my eyes almost refused. Tommy then pushed me, causing me to fall out of my chair.
"I will absolutely kill you for that." I growl at him. He simply laughs and I leave the set also in a huff. On the way back to Roberts trailer i find my board, abandoned. I smile down at her and pick her up. I give it a small kiss and find a light shining on me. Robert, with a flashlight. He quints at me and I can see his jaw clench. He really didn't like me.
"Hey." I say with a chumpy smile.
"What?" He asks while he turns on his heel to walk away from me. I board up to him, jumping off as soon as I catch up.
"Slick." He says faintly. I put a had on his shoulder and he cringes. I sigh.
"Dude, I'm sorry." I say in almost a whisper.
"Enough dude and Mr. Downey. Just Robert. Apology accepted." He says, continuing to walk away.
"Doesn't really feel accepted, Robert." I say in a smart ass tone. Why must I always do that?
"What's your name?" He asks, turning to me. He got close to me, comfortable distance.
"Andie. Andie Wood." I say back.
"You're spunky." He said with a smile.
"Come with me." He holds out his hand and I glare at it. Unsure. He just grabs onto my hand and brings me back to his trailer.
"Ew." I say. He hufs heavily and rolls his eyes.
"Would you like to come in and sleep with me?" He asks sarcastically. I smack his chest very hard.
"Hold on." He shouts from inside his trailer. He comes back out with a new pair of aviators and hands them to me.
"Thanks Robert but I don't need your pity." I push them away with a fake smile. Deep down though, I wanted those. But I couldn't accept them.
"I insist." He says back with a fake smile as well.
"No thank you."
"Really, Andie, it's not an issue."
"Robert I'm perfectly fine without them."
"Andie."
"Robert."
"Andie!"
"ROBERT!" The t at the end of his name was overly enunciated.
"Fine.." He says while putting them on his face.
"It's night Robert." I say to him.
"Just Rob." He says now, looking up at the stars. He then lies on the ground, staring into the night sky.
"Okay?" I was confused. What did he want to be called?
I laid beside him and he shuffled slightly away from me.
"You and I could make a great team you know. Like a power friendship." He said, not removing his gaze upon the sky.
"What makes you say that?" I ask.
"We're like the same person." He says in a whisper. My heart fell to my stomach. Thinking about today, thinking about this moment. He was 100% right and he can read me like a book because, well, I'm him. I cleared my throat and sat up.
"You're coming home with me tomorrow. I need some things from my house in LA, and by the looks of that board, you probably need to pick up your car." He said.
I was silent. Why did he want us to be friends?
"Then it's settled." He got up, dusting himself off.
"Wait, Rob. Why do you want us to be friends?" I ask him.
"I don't, really. But, we work together. And I figure we need to learn to get along or this movie will take much longer than it needs to. I see tomorrow as a 'bonding' day." He says residing back into his trailer. He tosses the aviators onto the ground from his trailer window. I look left, then right and pick them up. I place them upon my head and head Robert from inside his trailer say,
"Good girl." Before his lights went out.
Did he just treat me like a dog? God I hate him. Kinda..
