Connor flinched as he heard banging on his bedroom door. He growled, glancing down at his bloodied arm before throwing the blade into his tin and rolling his sleeve down. He stalked to his door, throwing it open angrily.
"What the fuck do yo-" Connor stopped when he recognized Evan. His gaze hardened as he glared at the smaller boy.
"You need to leave." He spat. Evan's demeanor completely changed from the nervous wreck he always was, to a confident and determined one.
"Connor, I'm not leaving until you tell me what's going on." He stated flatly. Connor glared behind him while instinctively scratching his burning arm. Evan raised an eyebrow, but silently pushed past Connor and entered the room. Connor slammed the door shut, spinning around to confront Evan. Before he had a chance to speak, Evan looked him in the eyes.
"Do you regret it?" He asked simply. Connor was taken back, taking a step backwards.
"What the fuck are you talking about, Hansen?" He snarled. Evan shook his head.
"You could've died, Connor." He murmured. Connor's anger overwhelmed him as he realized Evan was referring to his suicide attempt a few days ago.
"And how did you know about that? What are you, some kind of fucking stalker?" He spat. Evan flinched, but his reply was even and calm.
"Connor, my mom is a nurse. She works at the hospital." Connor closed his eyes, sinking down against the door. Tears pricked the sides of his eyes, threatening to spill. Evan got up and approached him slowly. As he bent down, he stroked Connor's long brown hair comfortingly.
"I.. I know how it feels." He sighed. Connor's gaze shot up to rest on him. Evan glanced at his cast, Connor's name standing out against the stark plaster.
Connor's heart beat sped up as he stared at Evan's soft features. His sandy blonde hair a mess of curls. His heart sank as he remembered his letter. Evan jumped as Connor suddenly broke the silence.
"You love her, don't you?". It wasn't a question, more like an accusation. Evan let out a small breath, staring back at the ground.
"No, Connor." Connor glared at him.
"Tell me the fucking truth." He growled. Evan stood up suddenly, his gaze morphing into one of grief.
"God damn it, Connor! Is it not obvious enough? I love you! I always have. I can't keep kissing strangers prentending they're you.. when all I want is to be by your side. To be with you." Connor stared in confusion, before muttering;
"Prove it, Hansen." Evan rolled his eyes, and pulled Connor up on his feet before smashing his lips against Connor's. His unbroken arm wrapped around Connor's neck. Both their faces went pure red when they finally seperated after a few moments. Connor raised an eyebrow.
"I should of told you a long time ago." Evan fiddled with the hem of his shirt. Connor smiled, for the first time in a long time.
"Evan.." he started. Evan flinched and met his eyes.
Connor's face went pale as he remembered the familiar burning sensation running up his arm. Evan noticed this, and glanced over at his sleeve. Slowly, he lifted it up to reveal ribbons of red crossing each other all the way up to his elbow. Dried blood matted his arm, and Evan's eyes began to well up with tears.
"Connor.. I'm so sorry." He whimpered. Connor shook his head and pulled Evan into a tight hug. He'd been stuck in darkness for awhile, but having Evan seemed to make it all go away instantly.
"Now that I have you, there's finally a little bit of light." Connor murmured.

(That sucked, sorry. 😅)
