Evan sat beside Connor Murphy on the ledge outside Connor's bedroom window. Thoughts were racing through his head as he stared down at the ground below him.
I'm fucking stupid.. of course Connor wouldn't like me like that. He just thinks of you as a friend.. or worse, a loser.. you don't deserve anyone's love.Tears pricked at the sides of Evan's eyes, and his breathing hitched as he grasped the front of his shirt. Connor's gaze shot back towards Evan, leaning over and rubbing his back comfortingly.
"Ev, what's wrong?" He asked quietly. Evan shook his his vigorously.
"I-it's nothing, Connor.." he whimpered. Connor's blue eyes suddenly grew stern, and his voice deepened.
"Evan, I know when something's wrong with you. We're best friends, you can tell me anything and I would never even think of ditching you. You don't remember that I don't really have any other friends either?" He chuckled. Evan smiled weakly, taking a deep breath.
"I-it's just.. I l-like you, Connor.. a-alot.." he murmured.
Connor's eyes softened, and he held his hand in his own.
"You don't have to be scared that you're not enough." He stated firmly, his eyes brimming with tears. His smile was sincere, Evan could tell.
"Try to quiet the noises in your head.. because what we have going is good, Evan." Evan's smile brightened and he tackled Connor into a hug.
"Nobody else but the two of us here.." he sang softly.
"It's just you and me." Connor cooed. "And the world falls away, and it's only us." Evan met Connor's blue eyes, shining even in the darkness. Evan leaned against Connor's shoulder, his panic attack subsiding.
Maybe I am worth something after all..Connor's gaze was fixed on the dark horizon, his face expressionless. Evan stared as he saw him mouth something towards the stars.
"I've finally found something to live for."
(Okay that was extremely short, sorry about that! I hope it's okay though.)
