Connor tapped his pencil against his chin in thought. He was sitting in the incredibly small white "dorm" he had been assigned since he had first arrived at the rehabilitation center. He continued to write until his roommate threw open the door, making him flinch.
"Murphy, it's dinner time." The darker skinned boy informed him. Connor rolled his eyes.
"Fine, Michael. Go ahead, I'll catch up." Michael smirked, coming up behind Connor. His eyes were visible through his framed glasses, so Connor could tell he was skimming Connor's letter.
"Dear Evan Hansen?" Michael questioned.
"He's my.. uh, boyfriend." Connor murmured. Michael perked up, patting him on the back.
"Damn Murphy, I'm sure you two are very happy together." He walked towards the door, his red sweatshirt bright against the starky colors of the room. He shot Connor finger guns before exiting. Connor sighed and put the letter in his folder before trudging down to the dining area of the building. He grimaced at the disgusting looking food thrown on his tray, before taking a seat next to Michael and a group of other boys he didn't know. From what Connor could hear, the guy sitting across from him was named Marco, and he had short dark auburn hair. Connor stayed quiet while picking at his food, until Michael turned to him.
"So, tell me about this Hansen kid." He smirked nefariously.
Connor gave a small smile.
"Uh, well.. he's basically the reason I'm alive. He found me after I attempted to take my life, and saved me I guess? After that we stayed in touch and hung out frequently.. soon enough, it grew into a relationship." Michael cocked his head.
"Whats he look like?" He asked.
Connor smiled at the image of Evan in his head.
"He has the most perfect sandy blonde hair and blue eyes.. he has these barely noticeable freckles on his cheeks. And when he's happy, his nose scrunches up and it's cute as hell." Connor rambled. Michael looked impressed, before smirking himself.
"You know, I'm gay too. I'm with this kid named Jeremy Heere." Connor nodded. Soon enough, everyone was told to report back to their dorms. Connor and Michael entered, Michael heading for the bathroom to shower while Connor went to finish his letter. As he signed the bottom, he sighed as he slid it into the envelope."Evan, honey." Heidi Hansen called from the bottom of the stairs. "You have a letter." Evan jumped and ran down the stairs as quickly as possible, grabbing the letter before calling "thanks mom!" behind his shoulder. He settled on his bed, and opened it.
It was addressed from Connor.Dear Evan Hansen,
Life at rehab is alright, I guess. I like the yoga and sharing circles every night. I've met quite a few people here who are like me, and it makes me feel less alone. I told my roommate Michael Mell about you, he said once we both get out of this shithole he and his boyfriend Jeremy want to meet you. I hope everything's going okay for you, and that no one is being an asshole to you just because I'm gone. Because I swear, I'll beat Kleinman's ass if he's making you feel like shit. Anyways, I hope I'll be home soon. Talk to you later, miss you dearly.
Sincerely, me
Connor MurphyEvan's eyes teared up a little at seeing Connor's messy handwriting, missing him even more than ever. He hugged the letter close to him, wishing Connor was with him now. But Evan knew he was somewhere to get better, so he shook the thought away. He pulled out his laptop and opened wordpress, beginning a letter of his own.
Dear Connor Murphy,
(Hope this was alright! It's pretty short, but I think it turned out decent.)
