-"So then," Dan laughed, "I smack my neck and a giant fucking ant was crawling on me! And the entire time I was just wondering, unless it fell from the ceiling, how did it manage to get on. My. Neck?!"
I laughed along with him, laying in my bed.
"And what did the people of.. YouNow, is it?" I asked into my phone, "What did they say?"
I could practically hear Dan's smile as he spoke, "They were just as confused about it as I was."Dan and I were talking on the phone for a good hour now, until a loud bang was heard coming from the kitchen. I sit up from my bed, clearing my voice,
"Hey, Dan? I gotta go but I'll call you back in a few, okay?"
He understood, and we both hanged up.Walking up to my room door, I opened it and called out for Violet.
No reply.I exit my room and head towards the kitchen, finding her on the kitchen floor with pots and pans next to her; she quietly sobbed into her hands.
"Violet?!" I knelt down next to her, pushing a few pans out of my way.-
The hospital halls were long and packed, leaving me to push pass people to keep up with Vi.
Once I caught up, she stood in front of a room door; she stared at the door handle as if it was her worst nightmare.
Moments passed, Violet didn't move.
"Vi, I'm here with you. I'm here for you." She looked at me, her eyes puffy from all the tears she cried earlier. She returned her stare back down to the handle, and opened the door.
-
His body was tangled in wires, and a large masked covered his mouth to help him breathe. Violet sat closely next to him and held his hand in hers. She wasn't crying anymore, but her yellow spirit wasn't there either.
My phone buzzed in my pocket, and I excused myself out of the room.
"Hello?"
"(Y/n), are you alright?" Dan's calm voice spoke on the other end.
It took me a moment to reply, "... Y-Yeah. Something just came up.""Oh shit, I'm sorry. I can just call you back later if that's okay."
"No, no, its okay."
We both stayed quiet.
"I, um, I have to go. I'll text you later, okay?" I told Dan.
"... Okay."
I walked back into the room as I hung up the phone.
