The raindrops hit against my black umbrella violently. I stood outside of my work for almost ten minutes, still waiting for my friend to pick me up.
I glanced back at the little floral shop behind me, and back down at the sunflowers I held against my chest.
"Why is she taking so long?" I thought to myself.Five more minutes had passed and I let out a small huff.
A tall man, with curly brown hair and holding a black umbrella, from across the street made his way to the shop and we exchanged glances.
"Hello." the word rolled softly out of his mouth, followed by a small grin. I smiled up at him as he walked into the shop. After a few moments, a body that was leaving the shop had bumped up against mine from behind, shaking off all the rain that had found a home on top of my umbrella.
"Sorry!" the stranger and myself had said in unison. He had moved himself to the right of me, and my eyes had met up to his coffee brown ones. It was the man who walked in.
"Oh no..." I trailed off, realizing that the water from my umbrella had fell on him."No, no, it's okay!" He assured, a soft grin planted on his pink lips, "It's just water; it'll dry off." He held five pure white roses in his right hand; probably for his love.
"I'm so sorry.." I apologized once again, "If you come back again tomorrow, I'll ring you up with a discount on some more flowers! I would now... but you already paid and my shift ended twenty minutes ago.."
"No need, it's really alright! Wait... twenty minutes and you're still here?" the tall man said, arching a brow.
I nodded, "My friend is picking me up but seems to be running late.""Well, you get home safe before the storm really comes." he smiled; his dimples showing themselves proudly.
I smiled back up at him, "You too. Have a good day!"
"You too!"
