Chapter 11

your grandmother passed away...your grandmother passed away...your grandmother passed away....

I trembled as those words replayed in my head. I couldn't speak. I couldn't move. I couldn't even cry. I felt paralysed. It seemed as if everything was a blur. James was saying something to me but I couldn't understand him. He pulled me into a hug but I didn't have the strength to hug him back.

No...now what's gonna happen? what am I gonna do.? Where will I live? No. She's gone. Forever.

I felt a single tear escape my eye and I just stood there. James and the doctor were talking but I only heard small muffled voices. James picked me up bridal style and carried me out to the car and put me in. He tried talking to me but I didn't answer. James grabbed my hand and gave it a small squeeze.

"Are you alright?" James asked.

I still didn't answer. All I did was squeeze his hand tighter making sure he didn't let go.

"Take me to Jai's house." I finally said.

"Why?" James asked nervously.

"Just take me there please."

James quickly let go of my hand and clenched the steering wheel, not saying anything. We arrived at Jai's house and I made my way out of the car. James grabbed my wrist before I got out.

"Please be careful." He said.

"I will be."

James released me and I went up to the Brooks' doorstep. I knocked and waited not knowing if anyine was awake. To my surprise, Luke answered the door.

"What do you want?" He asked angrily.

"To see Jai. Let me talk to him now." I said.

"I don't think he wants to see you right now." Luke said before closing the door.

I quickly stopped it with my hands and pushed it open. I pushes my way into the house and went to Jai's room. I walk in to find him sitting on his bed with his hands on his face. He looked at me as I came in. I closed the door behind me and sat next to him.

"Hey..." I said quietly.

"What the hell do you want?" Jai asked.

"We need to talk."

"Look I don't want to see you right now! Get the fuck out of my house!" Jai yelled.

I grabbed his hands and looked him in the eyes.

"No! I'm not leaving until I talk to you. It's really important just please listen."

"Fine! What do you want?" 

I pushed him on the bed to where he was now laying on it and I layed next to him putting my leg over his and wrapping my arm around his abs and layed my head on his chest. I explained everything that happened and apologized for everything that I did.

"Please forgive me babe. I promise I will never do anything like that every again." I said.

Jai lookes down at me with surprise but let out a small smile.

"I forgive you but  if you ever do something like that again... we're done." He said.

I nodded and planted a small kiss on his neck. We layed there amd eventually fell asleep.

Change. Things are really going to change now. I'm now completely on my own. I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. Maybe this is a good thing? Maybe not. I'll just have to wait and see.
