The Dead Becomes Us (REWRITTEN IN NEW BOOK)

Prologue

In 2020, The CDC and other organizations like it joined up to becoming the Department of Entropic and Anthropedial Diseases (DEAD).

They began to tinker with the 14th century Black Plague, and then the plague got mixed with rabies, Mad Cow Disease, and an Ebola/Zika Fusion as the first year went on. They were tasking themselves to see if a, zombie virus was possible and if a cure was possible.

They began testing it with modern vaccinations of each of the diseases and then combinations, and when they found a cure/vaccine they began to test on different types of apes.

After a few months of testing, they began to notice that the infected gorillas, especially the males, and chimpanzees were the only ones to be affected by it, The gorillas became more aggressive, but they began to work together, like a hive with the other infected gorillas and chimps.

They then noticed, when they would put the infected with the healthy apes, the healthy would run and hide from the infected, but the few that stayed were nearly killed and/or eaten. The only apes that were ignored were the ones that were vaccinated as if they were invisible.

The scientists coined the virus "Rager", which was first used by a junior scientist/intern York Black, while he was visually examining the apes behavioral pattern.

In May 2023, two months after full fledged scientist York left, The DEAD Paris Facility was attacked by a group of “eco-terrorists” and the building that the vaccine was held in was blown up and the Rager virus was stolen.

The CDC called in for aid from the military. The United States sends in Seal Team 4, who then find the terrorist seven days after the attack. The Seals kill the terrorists, find the virus, and then find the plans to attack the other DEAD facilities. Team Four goes back to command, giving the virus to Department of Defense.

DOD then decides to use the “terrorist weapon” against the terrorists, and when DEAD hears of this, they prohibit the attack, but the DOD goes through it anyways.

On June 14th, 2023, the US military chemically attacks all seven of the terrorist bases, and unbeknownst to the Military, the terrorists become infected and began to attack the civilians. In the next 216 hours, half of the world becomes “Ragers”.
