Chapter 20: Moving on

Stevens Pov
Everyone was on the wall in horror as i held Melissa in my arms. Her body was like concrete, no blood moving, numb, and cold. I stared at her beautiful face as it became clear she was not here anymore. I began to sob silently into her neck and i knew this time she was gone for good. I picked her up and silently walked over to the metal table. I place her lifeless body on the rectangular metal table and took a knee. Then suddenly in the distance i heard sirens, slowly get louder and louder.

"We are in the middle of nowhere how did they find us ?" Jake shouted out.

"La demonio, she called them and eh... made me tell em to come here. Im very esorry." The strange man stated as he hid in his knees once again.

"Henry is still out there he needs us. I can hold them back, but we have to leave Melissa here." I stated softly as i walked to the door. "We are gonna need your help, if you want to be with me and Jake." I stated as i looked at the strange man.

"I be feliz to do it," he replied as he got up.

We walked up the brown stair case and all the halls to make it to the front door. There wasn't many window to look out of so the strange man decided to use his powers.

"Theres many in the distance, like an army of police officers. I didn't expect this much after i made the call." He stated.

"Well what did you say?" Jake responded with anger.

"Murder in the middle of nowhere, big eguns and y demonios." He stated.

"We have to go, this many people is too much for us to handle on our own," i stated as i walked into the Lexus containing Henry. The strange man walked in with Jake and they both sat in the back seat. Henry gave me a glare and a puzzled look as he waited for Melissa to suddenly walk out the house.

"Where my daughter!?" He stated angrily as he looked at me.

"Shes gone Henry," i stated softly as i started the engine and drive away from the house.

"Go back! I demand you to go back!" He yelled at he started to punch the dashboard. I mind controlled his hands and placed them at his side.

"Shes gone! Stop acting like a five year old !" I yelled as tears began to fall of my cheek. Henry began to sob as let his arms go and the strange man also began to sob.

"Why are crying you strange man! You didn't even know her," I announced as i drove.

"Yet, i did, the time i was wit her, i knew her. She was like mi esposa, very beautiful and selfless." He stated as he looked at the never ending fields of grass" she isn't dead, her soul lives only now in spirit."

"Its called being dead dimwad," Jake stated as he looked out the window.

I drove as Henry and the strange man cried and glanced a look at the rearview mirror. There were heavy suvs coming my way as they started to speed up. I saw a man in glasses driving as he smiled at me.

"My name is Jorge, for your info," the strange man stated with his accent," and then men behind you are bad people, they worked for the woman you killed."

"Jorge what powers do you have?" I stated as i drove trying to speed away from the bad men.

"Mind powers, i can see through anyting, i can read the mind, and i can change how people view estuff."

"Good, blind them so we can get far," i stated as i drove into the grass.

"No can do, they have shielding powers which i cant get through." He stated as he looked behind him.
