Faye
I walked quickly down the busy London street, pulling my thick coat tighter around me and rubbing my hands together. I sighed in relief when the University came into view; I was getting tired of walking around central London. I made a mental note to get a car, as soon as possible.
I entered the classroom quickly, just as the professor stood to start the lecture. I took my usual seat at the front, listening intently and taking notes.
After my only lecture for the day, I took the bus to the small bakery, Tilly's Treats, where I worked. It was only 11:00 when I stepped through the door, which meant I was just on time for my two and a half hour shift.
I smiled contentedly when the familiar and delicious scent of baking pastry filled my nose.
"Faye!" I heard, and my smile widened upon hearing my best friend, Louise's voice. I quickly followed her into the kitchen to help her knead the bread dough.
"How have you been?" I asked, hanging my coat up and washing my hands.
"Good!" Louise replied cheerily, and I chuckled upon seeing her arms covered in flour and a bright smile on her face.
I walked over to join her on the counter, taking the remaining dough and kneading it roughly with my fingers. I paused to roll up my sleeves, an my cheeks burned red as I saw Louise staring sadly at my scars through the corner of her eyes. I hurriedly pulled my sleeves down and cleared my throat, walking across the room to the cupboards to find more flour.
"So um, I- we should catch up some time. I feel like I haven't seen you aince..." Louise trailed off, clearly uncomfortable.
"Since I went to rehab? Yeah," I gave a small smile and walked back to the counter to finish with the dough.
After my shift, I walked into a Greggs near the library to get my favourite lunch: A chicken and lettuce baguette with prawn cocktail crisps and a bottle of water. I decided to sit by the pond in the park to eat my lunch, while watching a family feed the ducks. I smiled at the adorable sight.
My gaze then travelled to the other side of the pond, and my breath caught in my throat upon seeing the green eyed boy who saved my life. My legs started walking over before I could stop them.
