"Mia, you want some more apple juice?" asked Tiana. I nodded my head and she went to get me some. It was 12:15pm and we've been up Jodeci music videos for hours. I reached for my phone to change to the next video but was interrupted by Chase calling. He's been blowing my phone since I left this place. I can't lie and say I wasn't purposely ignoring him because I was. The whole situation at his place made things awkward and not to mention I left my thong at his crib.

One Week Later

"Dex man stop capin, you know you still love that broad." I said. I was at Hooters with Tone, Dex, and Leon catching up on shit. We ain't been able to kick it like boys in a while. "Man whatever, I don't want ha, alright?" Tone, Leon, and I all bursted with laughter because we knew this nigga was lying. "So August, wassup with you? You talk with.. ole girl lately?" Asked Tone as he sipped on his beer.

"Ole girl as in Nina right? Nah. Haven't spoken with her since I left the hospital." I said hesitantly. "That's fucked up how she did my patna, led you on and shit." Said Leon. I became angered startling everyone including the people around. "It wasn't all her fault, it was her mother's." I said angrily. Tone took a sip of his beer side eyeing me and Dex looked at me with a smirk before shaking his head in disagreement.

"I see you still feeling the broad huh? Feeling her more than Mia?" he asked. I somehow knew this conversation was gonna fire back on my ass leaving me cornered. I looked at each of them before answering. "I ain't feeling nobody, I'm chilling."

"You ain't gotta lie Craig." yelled Leon. "Shut up nigga." I said while laughing. "I just wanna focus more on my business. I've been gone too long and I'm ready to get back to pleasing.. I mean helping out these lovely lost couples in this world." I said. The guys began cheering me on and boosting me up. "Yeah man, it's about time." Said Leon. "This time, can you leave one out for the kid? Save one for me man damn." Said Tone. "Boy yo ass married now, you tryna get murked by yo old lady?" I said. The guys began laughing in unison.

"So you gonna be smashing ya clients again and fall in love with one?" Asked Dex.  "Boy, fuck you." I said.

Mia
I sat in the parking lot inside my car sending in my last application. I quit my job at the daycare because I felt like I wasn't accomplishing anything there. I felt like I was there just to be there, not truly happy. And don't get me wrong, I loved the kids but that's not something I wanna do forever. Luckily I had money so I could sit out for so long but that's gets tiring after awhile, especially if you're like me with a working independent mind set.

I took a sip of my water and took a deep breath.  I was interrupted by my phone buzzing off. It was Chase. He's been blowing my phone up since I left his place. The last thing I wanted to think about was him. And I think his little boyfriend got ahold of my underwear because I woke up today and found my car key'd and my panties in my windshield. I rolled my eyes and dropped my phone.

I took another breather and reminded myself why I as here. I was in a parking lot waiting for it to be time for my audition. I was auditing for a tv show. Acting has always been a dream of mines to pursue. I just never had the courage to actually jump to do it. But Tiana and I had a talk and she told me I should. Don't look back and wonder what if. And with the extra boost from my parents I felt like I finally could do this.

I adjusted my shirt and got out of the car, I walked up to the door and went in. Hopefully this can be the start of a new beginning.

August
Me and the boys been out all night drinking and just having a good time. I was driving us back to my crib to kick it for the night, well morning. I was the the only one somewhat sober enough to drive. We had just left the strip club, we had to leave because Leon stupid ass tried grabbing money off of a strippers ass because he threw a $100 bill instead of $10.

"August, where I'm sleeping?" Asked Leon. "Well because yo ass is drunk, the couch, but if you was sober it would be outside." I shouted.

"Whatever punk." He replied. I grabbed my leftovers from Hooters off the dash and we all got out the car. I went up to my door and immediately noticed it was unlocked. "August, you good?" Asked Dex. "Nah, I think somebody in my crib." I said. We all looked at each other and Dex grabbed his clip and was ready to start blasting. I braced myself and slowly opened the door. We all walked in and it was pitch dark, then suddenly a female voice screamed out from the distance.

"Who the fuck are you?" I yelled. "Speak before I start spraying nigga!" Dex said loudly.

The dark shadow crept closer before revealing a female figure." Its Nina, please done shoot me, I just wanna talk August." She yelled. Her voice sounded funny. She crept closer and I shined my phone light onto her revealing her face. It was badly bruised and her left eye was swollen shut. Tone and Leon turned on the lights and rushed to get towels. Dex and I helped her to the couch as she staggered along.

"Who did this to you?" I yelled. She hesitated as tears fell from her eyes. "That doesn't matter, I just wanted to say goodbye. I'm leaving for good. And I wanted to say sorry, again. I never meant to hurt you I swear. I love you so much, August. I truly mean that." She said.
