A Reunion With Old Friends

~A few weeks after the battle~

READER'S POV

A while had passed since Arata's defeat, things were pretty much back to normal, well almost. Carla and Shin have started to attend night school and Yui has been pretty much the vampires' blood bag but I hardly get bitten like I used to, I think it's because the brothers were still a bit shocked when I told them about me being one of Himiko's descendant and being a half demon as well. However, I was still reeling from learning the truth about Arata being the cause of my Family's deaths.

I was at the graveyard placing the roses that I got from the Sakamaki's rose garden in between my parents and my little brother's graves. I was on my knees and I looked at their graves sadly. I wore my (F/c) elbow length jacket, (F/c) tube top, (F/c) jeans with suspenders, my usual necklaces, my usual wrist accessories and combat boots.

"Hmpf, you would have been sixteen this year Toby... I found Oscar, I managed to fix him but a little."

I said as I held Oscar onto my lap so that he was looking at the gravestones.

"I know you're unable to look after him like you used but, I'll make sure to take care of him and I'll bet Kanato and Teddy would like to play with him, you would like that wouldn't you?"

A gentle breeze blew and I could picture Toby smiling at me and telling that he would love that as well. I looked at my parents' gravestones and I ran my fingers over it.

"Otu-san, you were right, the Demon Queen's Bane is real and you and Oka-san knew all this time that I was a half demon and you didn't say anything...I don't blame you, you were only trying to protect me I understand that much but, the good news is that Arata is dead but, the bad news is that I can't shake the feeling that Arata isn't going to be the only one who's going to try and come after me."

I placed the drawing of the sword on my Father's grave and I placed a small stone so that it didn't get blown away by the wind.

"I would have brought the real one here but, before I left the demon world, I placed the sword in Kino's care should I ever need it again so, this drawing will have to do."

Another gentle breeze blew and I smiled a little because I can hear my Father saying thank you.

"Oka-san, you were a half demon too weren't you? I guess Grandmother and Grandfather knew about this as well...you don't need to worry about me anymore, I can take of myself but, I still remembered you telling me about the time when you and Otu-san met and you're right, someday, I will find that special someone."

I could picture Oka-san's smiling face and she was stroking my hair gently. I stood up from the ground and I said my final goodbyes to them. I didn't bother walking back to the mansion because I felt slightly depressed and the last thing I need was those vampires getting on my case. I walked through the streets with my hands in my jean pockets while thinking about what happened to me for this last month.

'Hard to believe that I'm a half demon who is a descendant of Himiko...I still cant' believe no one told me, oh well, I knew it was going to be the hard way to find out who and what I am someone like me doesn't take the easy road and I'll never will.'

I thought to myself as I looked up at the sun setting sky. I then decided to go to the scrapyard where I could get some peace and have a bit of time to myself. On the way there, I felt like someone was following me. I turned a corner with my hand on my pistol which was hidden underneath my (F/c) elbow length jacket. Once I was far enough from the public, I threw the culprit onto the ground and I pointed my pistol at his head.

"You picked the wrong person to rob!"

When I looked at the culprit's face, I recognised him straight away and he also recognised me straight away as well.
