The ride back from the hospital was mostly silent apart from the sound of the low radio playing metallica.
The silence was broken by Sam, who was sat in the backseat, staring at the scenery beyond the window.
"I heard you talking in the hospital." Sam spoke.
Dean gave Michael a worried glance before facing back to the road. They tried to think of a way to reply but didn't need to as Sam carried on.
"I already knew. About the yellow-eyed demon."
"How?" Michael asked.
"I remember Mom's death."
"That's impossible Sammy." Dean frowned.
Sam sighed gently. "The nightmares. Its me reliving Mom's death. Jess' death. Bobby's death. Over and over. So yeah, I remember mom's death. More than you. I'm lay in my crib and there's this man and he's -" he stopped, not wanting to mention the blood and the fact that he's half demon. "He's just stood staring at me. Then mom comes in. She thinks its just Dad and leaves but she comes back in and he...it..moves her up to the ceiling. Then the fire begins and her blood drips on my clothes whilst she whispers 'its okay, Sammy. The angels will take care of you' but I can see the horror and fear in her eyes. Then it moves to Jess' death." Tears fall from his eyes as he remembers each death, still looking out the window, a blank look in his eyes. "I'm six and this time I don't see it kill her, I just open my eyes with her blood on my face. And then Bobby. He's on the ceiling again, paleness in his face, looking older, weaker. And I go through that every night. The demon, he wont let me forget. He makes me relive them because he knows it hurts me."
"Sam that's horrible. You should have told us." Michael said, turning to look at Sam's tear streaked face.
"But you had the nightmares before jess or Bobby died." Dean stated, trying to find somewhere to pull up.
Sam looked away from the window but stayed silent.
"Sam?" Michael asked confused.
"I knew she was gonna die, before I even met her." Sam muttered.
The car swerved and bounced up the curb. Dean turned.
"What?"
"Jess. And Bobby. I knew they were gonna die." He looked down.
"That was just the demon messing with him, Dean." Michael told him.
"But how did it know he was gonna meet her?"
"It didn't. It got in my head, that's how it found out about the deaths." Sam said.
"What?" Michael asked. "Sam, how would you know exactly how Jess or Bobby would die?"
Sam looked at Dean. He looked scared he looked back down and whispered, "its because of the blood."
"What blood?" Dean asked, impatiently.
"the demon blood."
Deans frown deepened.
"Dean. Its in me. I can feel it."
Dean and Michael looked at each other.
"The demon won't ever leave because it wants me."
"Why?" Michael asked.
"For its army."
"its what?!" Dean spat.
" Its army of demons. Dean...I'm half demon. I'm a monster. You might as well just hand me over."
"This..blood. How does it explain the death thing."
"It gives me abilities. Psychic ones. I have these nightmares. And sometimes...they come true. Like Bobby and Jess and that guy that tried to get his friends girlfriend to jump off a cliff and then it turned out they were actually twins. I knew all of it was gonna happen." Sam cried. " We could have saved them."
