6 Months Later
Lunas POV
We had the house and the guys made a bunch of building adjustments, like fixing up the roof, adding a few rooms and they even installed a wood furnace in the back room so we didn't have pay so much for heating and use wood to heat up most of the house. Me and Mira had cleaned up the house, throwing out old moldy stuff or personal belongings that don't belong to us. The house soon looked more modern type of a cabin.
Mira was Evan older friends daughter who was 16 years old. She goes to school to a small town a couple of miles away from here and Craig is the one who drives her there and back since he got a job at a gas station somehow. The guy saw his background when he was interviewed, but I think it's because he saw how broken he looked and how much he didn't want to do what he did anymore. Craig hasn't been the same since Tylers death. Like how I haven't been the same since Brocks death.
Evan would always be the one that helped me whenever I had a nightmare of that day, or whenever I got angry at myself because I did nothing to the point where I had started cutting my wrist, but that came to a stop a week ago when Evan found me in my room bawling as quietly as I could with blood covering my arms. Let me tell you, he freaked! He had raced over to me, picking me up and bringing me to the bathroom where, even though his face was pure red and you could almost see smoke come out of his ears he still gently cleaned and wrapped up my arms. Since then he wouldn't let me out of his sight, heck I had to sleep in the same room as him because he was so paranoid I would do it again and lose so much blood that I died. And all that led to today.
Evan, even though he really didn't want to, had to go into town with Craig, Lui and Mira leaving me with Del. I was okay with that, that is until I thought it was a good idea to take a nap only to wake up screaming at the top of my lungs because of another nightmare. My hair was sticking to my forehead as sweat poured down my face. Del bursts through the door, his mask crooked because he probably put it on in a hurry.
"You alright, not hurt, what's wrong?" He asks loudly, juggling his words around since he was concerned.
"J-just another..nightmare," I said as I got up from the bed. He nods his head, watching me for a few seconds.
"Uh, how does Evan usually calm you down, he kinda left the person who has a hard time comforting people with a person who is in a time where she needs comfort and stuff," he said starting to ramble a bit as he moved his hands to emphasize what he was saying.
"I-it's fine, I, I'm just going to take a shower so can you leave, please?" I ask as I wipe my hair away from my face.
"Oh, uh, yeah," he said as he left, closing the door behind him. I get up and go to the bathroom where I do what Evan told me not to do, my brain was itching to get some relief and this was it. After I sit with blood dripping down my arm for about half a minute I wash it underneath cold water before I get in the shower.
An hour later I was bandaged and dressed in a t-shirt, jeans and one of Evans hoodies sitting in the kitchen. I had some left over spaghetti heated up and in front of me on a plate, ready for me to eat when the door opened and everyone walked in through the front door which can be seen from the seat I was sitting at the counter. Evan was the first one in. He smiled and waved at me as he takes his shoes off. I wave back as he makes his way over to me.
"How are you doing today?" he asks as he sat down next to me, glancing at me food before looking up at me.
"Fine, I did have another nightmare when I took a nap earlier, which probably scared the shit out of Del since I screamed and he rushed in almost immediately," I said with a small chuckle.
"How did you handle, ya'know you're wrist problem?" he asked with concern laced in his voice.
"I did good, I didn't fall under the spell I did before," I said in a slightly happy voice to show that I am happy that it hasn't happened again, obviously lying but by the look on his face he doesn't register that I was lying. He searched my eyes for a little bit before looking away.
"That's good," he said as he put his hands in his jacket pockets as he stared intently at the gray table top. I watched him for a bit as everyone moved through the kitchen, getting food and then leaving to the picnic table outside.
"Are you alright?" I finally question. He moves his head slightly over in my direction, still staring at the table top as he just shrugs.
"Just a bunch of things going through my head," he said.
"Like what?" I pry, wanting to know what was bothering him this much that he is spacing out.
"Stuff," he said getting irritated. I furrow my brows.
"But you're never this concentrated unless lives were at stake," I said as I burned a hole in the side of his head, silently wishing that he wasn't going to do another heist.
"You're life is at stake because of you own self, Mira could be found out by that gang and that gang is targeting a friend of mine, and also two of my family members died because I left the house because of that girl," he growled as I noticed he was clenching his fists in his pocket. I stayed silent after his rant. He grumbled again before getting up, walks to the front door, puts his shoes on and walks through the door. I sigh as I feel my arms starting to itch as they start to heal slowly. Everyone was outside talking and having such a great time, Evan walked out the front door and I am alone with scars on my arms and on my heart. I look down at y plate that I have yet to eat from, the food most likely cold now.
I get up and scrap the food into the garbage, not in the mood to eat anymore. I exit the kitchen and make my way up to my room where I cuddle up with the blankets and watch Fast 5 as it was my favorite one from the 8 movie franchise. Half way through the movie I fell asleep for the second time today, only to wake up not much later with another nightmare, but this time it was about Evan. I wake up screaming Evans name and shaking so much you'd think I was freezing in the arctic. Craig bursts through the door and immediately engulfs me in a hug to comfort me.
"W-where's E-Evan," I choke out through my tears, frightening over the nightmare on him.
"He still hasn't come back when he went on his walk, why?" he asks as he starts rocking us back and forth.
"M-my nightmare, h-he, he died a-and I couldn't s-stop myself," my muffled voice said as I stuffed my face in his chest as tears came down my face, stopping obviously not in the tears agenda for a while.
"Stop yourself from what?"
"F-from going c-crazy an-and k-k-k-killing E-Evan," I choke out as my crying got louder. Craig didn't say anything. Not long after he let go of me. I look up as I reached my arms out, wanting the comfort he was giving me, only for someone to replace him as their arms wrapped around me tightly, their chin on my head before they pulled me onto their lap. His stiff jacket was still slightly cold from being outside. He rocked us back and forth until my breathing became normal and the tears finally had another agenda to stay inside of me and not falling to what would technically be their deaths. He took his chin off my head, allowing me to look up at him. We stared at each others eyes for a bit.
"You're nightmare would never come true," he whispered.
"How do you know?" I ask as I look down slightly so I was staring straight in front of me which happens to be his chest.
"I just know," he said quietly as he continued to stare at me. Without warning his lips were on mine. My eyes widen before closing them, wrapping my arms around his neck. I felt fireworks going off in my stomach. Soon we had to pull away because we needed air.
"Because I like you too much to let you kill me," he whispers in my ear.
THERE IT IS! Sorry for the terribly long wait, I know I said 2-3 weeks but it's been like 4-5 or however long it was weeks. So, sorry I know people can get really annoyed when it takes long for someone to upload and I hate taking forever to upload cause I know the feeling of waiting forever for another chapter.
