Spider-Man was in the elevator of the Avengers tower, totally out of breath. He leaned his body against the metal. He'd gone as fast as he could in hopes he wasn't keeping them waiting while also trying to stay low profile, now of all times he didn't want any more backlash from the public.
Of the time he knew Mr. Stark, he still had never been in the tower before and he was anxious about how it would go to be asking to live here.
The elevator stopped and a voice rang overhead. "Sir, Spider-Man has just arrived." Jarvis informed Mr. Stark. An AI? That's so cool, he though to himself.
"Let him in!" He heard him yell. The doors opened suddenly to a big room, more like a house really.
"So, Spidey," Mr. Stark walked around the island in the kitchen and threw his arm around Spider-Man. "What brings you here after all this time? Begging for my help? Want us to sign your yearbook?" Spider-Man smiled a little and rolled his eyes but he couldn't see it. Mr. Stark always made fun of how young he is even if he didn't know his actual age.
"Actually, M-Mr. Stark," He was cut off.
"Tony. Call me Tony." He said while pouring himself some scotch and gesturing the bottle to him.
"I-I don't d-drink," He mentioned before getting to the point. He sucked in a breath, "Tony, I need a place to stay for a while and I was hoping you'd let me stay here." His words jumbled together but were clear.
Tony nodded and took a sip of his drink. "What happened to the last place you were?" He raised an eyebrow at the masked web head.
"Long story." He fiddled with his fingers on the table, wishing he would've come up with an actual story.
"The Notebook is a long story, Game of Thrones is a long story, is your story really that long?" Tony was always sarcastic but he put on his extra sarcasm today just for Spider-Man. This was the first time Mr. I'm-ready-to-be-an-avenger actually came around.
"P-please, Tony?" He asked pleadingly as Captain America walked in.
"Of course you can stay!" He smiled down at the younger boy. "Don't listen to Tony, he's secretly a big sweetheart." He wrapped his arms around Tony from behind and Tony rolled his eyes.
"Thank you Tony and Captain." He said in the happiest tone he could manage, it was hard to be excited about anything for him. He did notice that he didn't stutter which meant he was probably thinking clearly again. When he was nervous or scared, he always stuttered.
"Please," Captain smiled. "You can call me Steve." He patted Spider-Man's shoulder. "So what do you say you meet the rest of the Avengers?" He pointed to the living room where most of them sat, too busy to even notice anyone was there.
Spider-Man nodded and they walked into the room. Clint (A.K.A Hawkeye) was playing Mortal Kombat by himself on the big screen tv while sitting on the floor. Natasha (Black Widow) was laying on the couch and watching the game with disinterest. Thor was sitting on the chair opening a box of pop tarts, 3 empty boxes already at his feet.
"Ahem!" Tony loudly caught their attention. Well, Clint was still playing the game.
"Clint." Tony said in annoyed tone.
"Oh, OH, sorry." He paused the game as fast as he could and turned to face them.
"This is Spider-Man." Steve presented him.
"Evidently." Natasha rolled her eyes. "You're in the news a lot." She stated in a bored tone.
"That's me!" His voice went a little pitchy and awkward.
