When Jarvis shut it down, everyone was absolutely silent in shock. They were unsure of how to deal with the situation at hand or how they managed to let it get this far in the first place.

Peter and Wade stared at each other, both looking a little petrified. Peter didn't want to be weak in front of Wade again because, so far, that's all he's been. It made him feel like a burden, he's only known Wade about a week and has cried in his arms on 2 separate occasions.

Wade knew that Peter needed comfort and a sense of security even if he refused to let it show. He took a step forward and hugged Peter, feeling Peter's arms snake around his waist.

"It'll be fine, I promise." He whispered, looking at the team from behind Peter.

"We have to call someone." Natasha lowered her head as she said it, of course she didn't want to any more than the rest of them did.

"No." Clint protested sternly. The others admitted to themselves that they didn't want Peter/Spider-Man to leave. He was a good kid.

"She's right." Bruce sighed with a nod.

As everyone around them talked and debated who to call, Wade pulled away from Peter and saw the fear in his eyes. He sighed down at the younger boy and felt bad he couldn't do much but have them run away. Wade knew that wouldn't make this any better so he didn't dare bring it up.

The team fought over what they could do to solve the problem, who to call, where to go, etc.

Under all the rambling, Peter and Wade heard Bucky pout, "I could've came here any day but no it had to be today." He shrugged. "Stupid universe." They managed a small smile to themselves.

"I have an idea!" Wade yelled above the team in excitement, waiting for everyone to give him full attention.

"That's never a good sign." Tony said under his breath.

"Shush." He silenced Tony. "Let's call eyepatch pirate guy and then he can get his parrot and tell us what to do!" Wade threw his hands on his hips.

"That," Steve started, "Actually isn't the worst idea. Thank you, Wade." He smiled kindly at him.

"Just protecting my baby boy." He laughed and peered down at Peter, who smiled at him lovingly.

Why can't I date him, again? Peter asked himself and managed to forge a speedy answer from... himself.

He's way older than you and he's a killer. Peter bit his lip, he couldn't really fight that logic.

He turned away from Wade, smiling stupidly. "Don't call me that." Peter muttered with a blush.

"You love it." Wade winked down at him as Tony contacted Nick Fury.

For several seconds, the ringing of Tony's work phone was the only sound emitting from the whole room, that and heavy, uneven breaths from some of them. The minuscule amount it took felt like an eternity.

Finally, they heard a click and a rough voice. "What did you do?" He asked on speaker phone.

"It wasn't him, this time." Steve said into the phone in hopes they could speed this along and have an answer on where to go from there.

"It's about Peter Parker, we know where he is." Tony peered up at the nervous young boy.

"The missing kid? Call the police then." He answered his own question in light agitation.

Steve sighed, "It's, uh, it's more complicated than that." He ran his fingers through his hair, trying to explain in a simple form that Peter was important to the team and they needed him there with them.
