Chapter Eight - Don't Laugh

Harry's POV:

When Elena and I came back from the store, I wasn't hungry anymore so I helped unpack the food then made my way up to my room to be alone with my thoughts. I decided I would be the better friend to both Niall and Elena and hide my feelings towards Elena no matter how much it hurts.  

If I tell Elena about me liking her she would feel bad about liking Niall which would make Niall miserable. Argh! Why does this have to be so complicated! I sighed outloud.

"Harry? Are you okay?"

"Woah! You scared me Ava!" I said after I jumped in fright.

"Sorry Haz, but you've been running your hands through your hair and sighing with an intense thinking face on for the last 2 minutes that I've been standing at your door" She chuckled walking over to my bad and taking a seat, "Want to talk about it?" She asked.

"You wouldn't understand" I replied burying my face in my pillow muffling my voice.

"Well, of course I can't understand if you don't tell me what's wrong" She said with an obvious tone.

"It doesn't even matter! I can't change anything without ruining everything!" I snapped fustrated.

"Well it obviously matters since it's bothering you so much, I'm sure there's something you can do" She said trying to reassure me. 

"Fine I'll tell you but you have to promise not to tell anyone! Not even Zayn and especially not Elena" I said to her. She gestured zipping her lips.

"Well.. I like Elena..." I said hesitantly watching for her reaction.

"Oh..." Is all she replied with. 

"I told you I can't do anything about it" I said in a told you so tone.

"Well, you know who she likes right?" I nodded, "If you really like her you'll be happy for her with Niall... but that doesn't mean you can't still be her friend. You never know something could spark" She said winking and leaving the room.

Guess I'm just going to leave it. But I will be Elena's best friend.

Elena's POV:

I saw Ava come down the stairs.  

"Is Harry alright? He just took off into his room." I asked Ava as I washed my dinner plate and put it away.

"Yeah... He just tired" She said but I wasn't convinced, I gave her a ' what are you hiding ' look but she just ignored me smiling.

It was half past ten when we were finished dinner so we decided to watch another movie.

"I want to watch Toy Story!"

"No Liam, Let's watch Love Actually!"

"The Inbetweeners Movie!"

"Oh god..."

Everyone was shouting and arguing over what movie to watch. "OKAY EVERYONE SHUT UP! " I yelled and they all froze to look at me.  

"Okay, Let's play a game to see who get's to choose the movie" I said cheekily winking at Ava. I saw the boys exchange worried glances.

"Uh... What game would that be Ellie bear?" Louis asked.

"The aim of the game is to be the last person to laugh. You have to try and make everyone laugh. The person who lasts the longest without laughing wins and gets to choose the movie" I explained. 

Four of the boys shrugged in agreement and started to form a circle. Niall just stayed back hesitantly. 

"Well, I'm going to fail at this game" He muttered joining the circle.

"I love this game!" Ava exclaimed excitedly.

"Okay. Ready? Go!" I yelled.

"HAHAHAHHAHA" I heard the unmistakable laugh of Niall Horan.

"Seriously Niall? Already?" Liam chuckled, "Damn, This is a dumb game"

I watched Louis and Harry making funny faces at each other and it looked like Harry was just about to break. 3, 2, 1..

"HAHAHAHA , Damn you Boo bear" He said.

Zayn was just sitting there looking bored. There are four of us left. Louis, Zayn, Ava and I. I looked over at Ava, I noticed Zayn quite close to her face like he was abot to whisper in her ear but she was looking at me and didn't realise he was that close. Then I saw her turn quickly and collide straight with Zayn's face.

"OW! Zayn!" She laughed.

"HAAHAHA AVA'S OUT! oh shit" He said as he realised he got himself out. It took all my willpower not to laugh at what had just happened.

"Damn you have a hard head" Zayn said quietly.

"Who do you think is going to win?" I heard Niall ask the others.

Ava and Liam immediately yelled "Elena!" at the same time Zayn and Harry yelled "Louis!"

"I wouldn't be too sure, Elena is really good at this game" Ava said.

"Let's bet!" Niall exclaimed.

"Seriously guys?" I muttered.

"Okay! Harry and Zayn have to give me and Liam five bucks each if Elena wins and vice versa" Ava announced and I rolled my eyes.

"Niall, who are you going for?" Harry asked.

"Umm... I think I'll go for Elena"

Harry looked over to me and chuckled, I shot him a glare. Okay, Elena, focus.

The room had gone silent and the atmosphere turned thick and intense. I turned my focus to my cousin who was smirking.  

Oh no, I know that face. He wouldn't. He wouldn't bring it up. "You wouldn't" I said firmly.

"Wouldn't I?" He smirked.

Damn. He so would. I have to think of something fast. Cmon Elena. Think. Think.

LOUIS' POV:

How can I win against Elena?! I was already on the verge of laughing from the intense atmosphere and the fact that money was now part of the game. I needed a good plan to win against Elena and I really want to watch The Inbetweeners Movie. I racked my brains for some sort of plan.

BINGO! I smirked and watched Elena go from confused to worried. She knew exactly what I was going to do. It was a sacrifice on my behalf. One of the most embarrassing moments of my life but desperate times call for desperate measures.

"You wouldn't" She said.

I just smirked "Wouldn't I?"

I almost laughed at her worried expression. Almost. She was going to burst into laughter already and it's just because I got her thinking about it.

I'm so going to win this.

This is reeeeaaallly short and a filler chapter. Not much couple action either sorry . This is a boring chapter...

Exciting stuff soon though.
