Why is this happening

Doctor: she's fine and so is the baby

Caroline: oh thank god!!

Bonnie: (slowly breathes out)

Doctor: I assume the baby's father left her?

Caroline: (looks at the doctor and slaps him in the face) thank you for your concern but the father of this baby would NEVER leave

Doctor: (in shock) I'm sorry ma'am I just assume that he left

Bonnie: he died

Doctor: that's not good for Mrs. Salvatore or the baby, does she know?

Bonnie: no

Doctor: was this just recent?

Caroline: OMG YES!!!

Bonnie: care calm down please...for Elena

Caroline: okay (breathes out)

Doctor: well is there any guys that can be a father figure or can help?

Bonnie: she has her little brother Jeremy but he's at College and I don't want him to be distracted, then there's Alaric her father figure but he had twins so she pretty much has us

Matt: she has me as well

Caroline: MATT?!!!

Matt: I wanna be there for her I know Stefan would've wanted someone else but I was her first boyfriend and I'm her best friend so if y'all let me I really wanna help

Bonnie: matt I don't know, I mean are you sure about this??

Matt: I would do anything for Elena, she needs help

Elena: guys what's going on???

Bonnie: Elena (gasps)

Elena: where's Stefan??

Caroline: (looks down and walks away)

Elena: what?

Bonnie: I'm so sorry Elena (starts crying)

Matt: (sits next to Elena and puts his hand on her knee) Stefan's gone

Elena: okay where did he go?

Matt: no Elena he's gone...with Damon

Elena: (her face drops down and she starts to cry)

Matt: I'm sorry, Elena

Elena: Nooooo this can't be happening, we were supposed to grow old together, have a couple of kids and maybe have a dog

Doctor: I'm sorry for your loss

Elena: I just wanna be left alone...please

Bonnie: yeah, okay Elena I'll come by tomorrow

Matt: I'll see you, Elena

Elena: don't you ever say that

Matt: why?
