Escape◆◇◆Chapter 11

"Does anyone know anything about Aermaet? "I asked.

We'd been trying to escape but it seemed the prison had some kind of barrier so even though we destroyed the gates we still wouldn't be able to get out. Divinia had gone inferno and had scarred the barrier but it didn't work. I and Aiser used our water powers to try to break the barrier but the water just passed through. That's when I got an idea.

"Div, you said sometimes a water elemental needs a guardian, someone just as powerful as the water elemental" I paused" what if you became my guardian, I would have unimaginable powers right? "

"Yeah, I guess but why? "

"only water can pass through the barrier, so why don't I become water itself with your help then find a way to destroy the barrier from the outside"

Aires smiled" wow, you're right, but her, your guardian?"

Div shot him a death look. "Aiser, I need someone just as powerful as me, so how exactly do you become my guardian"

Merlin stepped forward from the darkness, his shaggy brown hair had turned almost Grey due to the dust" I know the ritual, it's actually simple"

I nodded and gestured to Div to come over.

"Place your palms unto each other" said Merlin. We did as he said." Then say this spell after me,Seliae truape Berca,
Gualloer Zeris Abadon"

We said the spell and waited. Slowly, a thin rope of water crossed our arms together. Then, with speed Div's body entered mine and our thoughts became the same. Slowly rocking then galloping faster than before. Something rocketed out of my back and I looked back.

Jesus.

Beautiful wings the size of billboards were jutting out of my back. They were the color of lava and fire, Div's element. We'd become one. She'd become my guardian.

As I walked, she walked. All our feelings, movements,expressions, skills, experiences, they were all joined together.

I concentrated on becoming water, I wanted to feel myself turning to a liquid. I felt pains in my head as Div struggled to maintain the balance between us. I felt my hands getting sloppily and faster to move. I felt I could contain any space. Suddenly I turned into water. My form was still visible, but instead of me to actually have turned in to water I was now kind of a water statue.

I walked to the barrier hoping It wouldn't detect a part of me that was human. As I touched the barrier, it rippled before letting me pass through. Then, I felt myself turning back to normal,slowly. My hands became solid and I could feel the ground on my feet.

I thrust my hand forward shooting beams of fire, light and water,axle joined together to make one force. The ground shook as the barrier exploded and my friends ran our. Aiser quickly took the lead, taking us back were we came from.

He led us back to the throne room,c where we heard the king shouting orders to soldiers to check what was happening somehow as I was holding Merlin's and Aiser's hand, the guards passed through is.

A I ser walked in front of the king his sword drawn. The king's eyes were wide open at first but then,he used his wings to cover himself. Huge blasts of light shot forward, Aires sidestepped but the light grazed his arm.

The king opened up his wings reaveling hos true for. A golden breastplate covered his chest. His purple robes had shredded during his transformation, so, his hands were bare with the exception of some black metal gloves. In his hands was a giant sword with serrated edges.

A I ser rushed forward attack from below, but the king despite his age, parried the strike effectively. A I ser drove forward, trying to unbalance the king, but the king simply flew up into the air and counterattacked. He sliced and slashed at Aiser making some bruises and cuts in the process.

I sensed Aiser's anger and shouted to him to stop but it was already done. The king drove towards him with alarming speed. Just when Aiser was about to deflect it, the king bent down and struck.

A deep gash opened in Aiser's stomach. He let out a soft gasp as the sword In the king's hand disappeared he headed towards us I grabbed Merlin by the short and Aiser and busted out of the gates.

Quickly, Merlin called a horde of air around me and created a circular path with it. Remembering how he and Aiser created the portal, I shot a burst of water towards it. The murky dark liquid formed and I entered it.

We landed near a familiar building. It was very tall like a spire with a pointy top like a needle unto. Thousands of people bustled around In pavements. Shops and malls surrounded the tallest building in America. Empire State Building. We were in New York!! I screamed as a man passed through me like a ghost. I looked at my body and noticed it was like water again. This people couldn't see me.

I flew up with Merlin and dropped him on the top of a building.

"Ouch" he gasped as we landed on the cemented roof.

I spotted a hospital nearby, and tried to contact Divinia in my head. Aiser was moaning as I dropped him gently on the roof. His wound was pretty bad and I tried to look for a way to stop the bleeding.

Hello. I whispered telepathically.

Hi! Karlin this. Is. Soo. Cool.

Okay, can you fold in our wings.

Sure.

I gasped as I felt the bones of the wing melt into my backbone. I watched Merlin as he created a ball of air around him and jumped down the building. I turned to my watery for and landed beside him before changing back.

"We're heading for the hospital, get Aires on your shoulder" I said to Merlin. He did as he was told and plopped Aires effortlessly on his shoulders.

We ran to the hospital, watching as they took him away on a yellow mattress. I shuffled to the waiting room. I wasn't going to lose the brother I'd just met.

Unh huh.... not on my watch. Whispered a voice at the back of my head.

Shut up Div, I mean it, Aisers really nice you know.

No way! I replied In my head.
