On June 20th I started noticing something strange about Tristan. He was quiet and he didn't smile or laugh as much. I was starting to get really worried.
I was driving to my dads work to go visit Tristan but when I got there I didn't see his car. Usually he's there by 9 and it was 9:30. After I parked I went inside to see if maybe he walked today. When I didn't see him I texted him. I waited about 5 minutes before checking my phone just to see that he hasn't even read the message. I tried to call him but he didn't pick up. My dad asked me if I knew where he was and I said I was going to go get him. He asked me if everything was okay but I just shrugged my shoulders because I honestly didn't know.
I pulled into his driveway about 15 minutes later and I saw his car but the other car was gone. I went up to the front door and I knocked but I got no answer. I rang the door bell but still got no answer. I tried to open the door but it was locked. I looked around to see if any of the neighbors were outside but I didn't see anyone. I called my dad to see if he showed up while I was gone. He said he still wasn't there and I should just come back to the shop and he would call them all.
I was really worried now but I drove back to the shop. When I got there my dad was on the phone. He gave me a look and I knew something was really long. I sat in Tristan's office until my dad came into the room. He didn't look at me at first which just made it worse. I wasn't going to sit and wait forever.
"Well....whats going on!?!" I asked trying to get his attention.
"Well at first none of them answered so I called his mom again but it was Tristan that answered. He said he was sorry he didn't answer the first time. They are in the hospital, his cousin was in an accident last night and they've been there since seven this morning. He should be okay but they just want to make sure. Tristan said he could come in later if I needed him to but I said he didn't have to."
I took a deep breath. I thought he was going to say something happened to Tristan. But everything is going to be okay. That's all that matters. I do hope his cousin is alright though.
"Alright do you want me to answer the phones till I have to go?" I asked.
"Yeah, that would be very helpful. Thank you kiddo."
I smiled a little but as my dad left the room. Tristan is alright and I can see him later if he's not busy.
I answered the phones and got everyone lunch before my shift started. I had been texting Tristan all day making sure everything was okay with his cousin. He said everything was fine but something still seemed off. He was giving me short responses. I figured he was busy because he's at the hospital...still. I told him I had to go and I would text him when I could.
Eventually my shift ended and I went home. Tristan said he couldn't hang out tonight because he was busy helping his parents with stuff. I guess his grandparents are coming into town. I didn't mind too much because I love his family. I just haven't been able to see him a whole lot now that we're both working. I'm also going on vacation to Arizona, we're visiting my aunt and uncle. We leave this Saturday June 25th and I'm not getting back till July 2nd.
