Tristan's P.O.V

Every single year on the 4th of july Alexis' family has a huge party. Everyone in the neighborhood is invited and Sean barbecues. Each family brings something, wether it's food, drinks, fireworks, music, their animals, games or whatever else they can think of. It's always been my favorite holiday. I love seeing everyone, it's like a big family reunion.

I was getting ready for tonight when my mom knocked on my door, even though it was already open. I looked over at her and smiled.

"What do you need mom?" I asked.

"I was just checking to make sure you were ready. We're leaving soon." she said while walking up to me.

She put her hands on my shoulders an looked at the outfit I had on for tonight. A white muscle shirt with dark wash skinny jeans and my grey Vans. When she went to hold my wrists I flinched away because I didn't want her to see my healing cuts, which I had forgotten about till now, but she caught them and she just looked at my wrists. Then she looked into my eyes and said one word.

"Why?"

I couldn't tell her that I hated myself, that I did this on purpose and that I've been doing it every night since June 6th. I never wanted anyone to know, especially her. The look in her eyes said she was extremely upset, hurt and scared. Eventually she let go of my arms and walked over to my bed so she could sit down. I went to my dresser and grabbed a few bracelets so nobody else would notice them. Hopefully.

"Why?" she asked again.

I looked over at her and I could she she wasn't gonna drop it.

"I'm...going through some things. It was only one time. I won't do it again." I lied.

She smiled sadly and stood up to give me a hug.

"Are you ready?" she asked.

"Yeah, I think so. Are you alright?"

"I will be as long as you are."

She stepped away and left my room telling me we were leaving in 2 minutes. I looked around my room making sure I had everything I needed, I grabbed my camera and looked in the mirror one last time running my had through my hair. I really needed to get it cut. I sighed and went downstairs so we could leave.

Alexis' P.O.V

When Tristan showed up he didn't look to great. He looked really pale and as if he was going to be sick.

"You want to talk?" I asked when I gave him a hug.

He just shook his head.

"No, I'm fine. You guys need any help?"

I glared at him.

"We are going to talk later and you can't get out of it," I said and went inside.

He's not telling me stuff and its pissing me off. I can't stand when he hides things from me. I never hide things from him. Well I usually don't, I have before only because if I didn't be would have beat the shit out of my boyfriend at the time. I didn't want that to happen no matter how much of a dick he was to me.

Eventually everyone showed up and the party began. Tristan and I were together most of the time. We got asked a bunch of questions like 'how was your junior year' 'are you guys dating yet' 'what do you plan on doing for college.'

Around 9 o'clock the fireworks started. We all got sparklers and that's when Tristan started taking pictures. I still need to figure out why he's taking so many.

About 2 hours later everyone left so I went to go find Tristan because he had disappeared after the fireworks. He wasn't in the family room or the kitchen so I checked the basement and the backyard yet I still couldn't find him. His car was still in the driveway do he had to be somewhere. I decided to go check the upstairs. After going through every room I gave up and went back to my room to lay down. I walked over to y bed and fell face first into my pile of pillows. I sighed, Tristan was so confusing at times. I took a very big deep breath and then everything became quiet. About 30 seconds later I felt something on my leg and instantly thought it was a bug crawling on me. I screamed then slapped my leg and the bed trying to kill whatever touched me. It turned out to be a person, Tristan.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK, YOU'RE A DICK!" I screamed, "That scared the shit out of me, where the hell did you come from?"

"Well first I was in the bathroom downstairs and then I was walking around looking for you," he replied laughing.

"why didn't you announce yourself before you came and tickled my leg? I thought you were a bug or something."

He shrugged and chuckled then he became extremely serious.

"What," I whispered.

"We need to talk."
