"Why are you showing me a gobstopper?"

"Why are you showing me a gobstopper?"

"Because I almost broke my face on one of these, and I need you here to witness my death."

"I... am not sure how to respond to that."

"You don't have to respond." She grinned. "You just have to watch me die."

"I don't think I want to? I don't know, something about watching my friend die doesn't really appeal to me."

"Damn. No one wants to watch me die," she sighed, falling backwards onto her sofa. "How is your day?"

"It's been pretty uneventful so far. I've been watching movies with my brothers."

"Oh, did I interrupt you? Sorry!"

"Don't worry about it, I can spend time with them whenever. I have to actually plan in advance to see your face. What time is it with you? Like three?"

"Three-twelve," she answered with another smile, "I have another conference-thing in like an hour and a half. I'll have to start getting ready soon."

"Are you enjoying the movie star life?"

She nodded, "So much. I'm really excited for people to see it! And the premiere! I've been to some before with Lucie, because I've been her date and stuff, and I've been interviewed with her on the red carpet because people want to know what the model BFF has to say about the movie, but like, this time some people will ask me about the movie, and not about my personal life. Not many, probably, but a few."

"I've only been to two so far, but it's been such a... such an exhilarating experience, and really, really weird. There were so many people wanting to talk to me. Haz loved it, too."

"Did you take Haz with you to the HoCo premier?"

"Yeah, and the Civil War one." He grinned. "Who are you taking with you to the Sleepless premier?"

"I was actually going to ask you." She shrugged, smiling sheepishly at the boy. "I mean, Lucie's planning on asking Ostrich, and the others have tickets of their own, so I thought... I thought maybe you'd like to be my 'date'."

"I suppose I could fly back earlier for a few days, if you really wanted me to."

"You know I want you to, you asshole," she scoffed. "You're my friend, and I want you to be there. I'll even give you the spare room in my apartment, if you're lucky."

"I'd be honoured."

"Good. I expect you to wear a matching tie with my dress, by the way."

"Of course." He laughed, just as a shout sounded throughout his house. "Hey, I've gotta- I've gotta go. I'll talk to you later?"

"I've got to go, too, so don't worry about it. And yeah, I'll text you after the conference?"

"I'll be waiting. Talk to you later, Brooks."

"Bye, Spiderboy."
