MONDAY AFTERNOON, model and dancer Brooklynn 'Brooks' Smith visited us at Heart Headquarters in LA for an interview three months in the making. She was obviously excited— ecstatic even— to share the secret she'd been told to keep for nearly a year now!

Model and dancer, Brooks Smith, pictured above, had a secret she was itching to tell!
The following is a transcription of the interview that followed:
PETERSON: So, Miss. Smith, I hear that you've got some exciting news to share with us today!
SMITH, laughing: I do! I've been dying to tell someone other than Lucie for ten months now! She's the only one I was allowed to tell— the others only know that I've had a project going on that's on the 'down low'.
PETERSON: And what exactly is this project, if you don't mind us jumping right into it?
SMITH: Oh, no! I don't mind jumping into it, I don't think I could wait another moment, anyway. [ANOTHER LAUGH] I've actually been working on— wait for it— on a movie. It's my first time branching out into the acting world, which is something I've been contemplating for a long, long time. And early last year, I finally took the plunge and auditioned for a part that I in no way thought I was actually going to get, but I did.
PETERSON: That's wonderful! Is there anything more you can tell us about this movie?
SMITH: I'm playing a character named Laura Hawthorne in 'Sleepless'. The trailer is being released later this week, and I'm honestly so excited for everyone to see it!
PETERSON: Sleepless? Isn't that the movie that Lucie is also starring in?
SMITH: Yes, it is! She's actually the one that pushed me into going to the audition— she said that if I did it, she'd come along with me and audition, too. I never in a million years expected for us both to get parts— in fact, I thought for sure that it'd only be Lucie.
PETERSON: It must be great, filming alongside your best friend?
SMITH: It's been wonderful! But, keeping it from our friends has been awful! When I went with Lucie to Atlanta last year to start filming it, they thought I was only there for moral support and to keep her company, not to film my own scenes in an actual movie!
PETERSON: Well, hopefully they'll forgive you for keeping this from them! When does promotion start, if you don't mind my asking?
SMITH: Promotion starts tomorrow— Lucie and I are flying out to Atlanta in two days for a press conference, and then to NYC— I'm so excited!
PETERSON: Well, I hope you have a great time! And I hope that this isn't the last we'll see of you on the big screen!
SMITH: I hope not, either!

SLEEPLESS is set to be released on September 7th 2017. The official trailer will be hitting YouTube at 1:30 p.m today.
