Imagine with me, if you will, a world where a man loving a man is commonplace. A world where parents seek for their son's the perfect mate, a male. This story takes place in the countryside hundreds of years ago in Thailand.
Yo is one of five...
A man who was highly suspect of being a moron and perhaps eccentric, arrived at the Suradej home in the later afternoon of a beautiful and temperate day. He had written to Yo's father two weeks prior, Mr. Suradej had not mentioned it until this very morning.
He held a hat on his head as he bumbled and bounced in the back of a cart. This turned out to be how he made the last leg of his two-day trip.
The entire family walked to the lane in front of their house and witnessed this comical entrance. Sutee and Kit were struggling to hold back their laughter. They almost revealed to their father's nephew, their cousin, everyone's thoughts, his unconscious, yet, apparent state of ridiculousness
A plump and stout frame, topped off with buck teeth and a double chin, P'Fart almost fell on his face when he stepped down.
He told Yo's father in the letter that he wanted to repair the long-held misunderstanding between his own father and his Uncle, Mr Suradej. He claimed that his father always felt bad about taking the larger portion of the inheritance. He left Mr. Suradej with far less than his share when their father passed.
At dinner, the family was treated to a diatribe of blather. He talked endlessly of a recent new connection he'd made with a woman who was of the Royal family no less. A distant relative and much older, she was indeed the Kings great Aunt. Ms. Taksin.
He boasted of having dined at her home on many occasions, and he vomited accolades of her fine son.
When Mrs Suradej questioned him about the boy, he explained that he was not out in society, as he was of a frail nature and often plagued with sickness.
Ms Taksin, it seems, had taken the little dweeb of a man and set him up in a fine situation that kept him well under her eye. Fart's financial state was already much greater than Mr. Suradej's sons, they would have to split five ways, the estate, when their father passed. This grovelling weasel had gained from his own father's death, much of what should have been Forth's, Wayo's and the other boys.
Even Ming, joined with his younger brothers Sutee and Kit, in the parody of P'Fart, he was deemed by everyone, worthy of mockery.
