Note*  I included this video of some traditional Thai music. From what I've read and understand, Their long history shows they had a really great rhythmic style to their classical music.

"It is a blending of musical elements from a number of cultures, such as Chinese, Khmer, and Indian. This applies not only to the instruments but also to the melodies."

There is a great deal of dancing in this story and I can picture it so much better having heard this.

Sutee was leading the way, Ming and Kit were close behind, they held each other's hands as they ran.

He burst through the front door and right into Yo and Fourth as they prepared to go out themselves.

"Guess What!" He pursed his lips and waved. "Oh forget it, you'll never guess."

Now, with everyone standing and waiting to hear, he had to stop and catch his breath.  Ming was doing the same.

Finally, Sutee spit it out.  "P'Fart has asked P'Apo to marry him, and, P'Apo has accepted."

Wayo's mouth was hanging open. "What? Apo is engaged to P'Fart.  No! It can't be, that's insane."

By just being so surprised at the idea, Yo could see that he insulted Apo when he questioned him as to why he would accept P'Fart." Wayo arrived breathless at Apo's home only minutes after he'd heard the news.

There was a wounded sound in Apo's voice and his beautiful round eyes looked sad at his friend. "Wayo, do you think it's impossible for a man to like me?  Am I so undesirable?"

Wayo dropped his head.  "Oh, Apo, I'm so sorry, you know that's not true." He took Apo's shoulders in his hands. "Apo, you know I was in love with you at one time, and that's because of the person you are. I've always thought that you were beautiful." Wayo's head tilted and he looked as if he might cry.

"You're not just beautiful on the outside, your heart is made of gold." He sighed deeply. "I'm sorry Apo.  If P'Fart has attached himself to the strings of your heart I can only wish that you are both very happy."

Apo looked down into his lap. "I know what you're thinking Wayo, I'm different than you though. You have to remember that my father is not a wealthy man and when he passes, a great portion of it will go to pay his debts. I'm not asking to be swept away with love, I just want security for my future and a home." He was twisting his fingers and cracking the knuckles. "Maybe even some children one day." He looked up to Yo. "P'Fart has three sisters."
