The Love That we Made Together

Chapter 3

POV: Lucy

*******DREAM*******

I was in a large field of poppies. The sweet scent of pollen and wildflowers wafted though the air. I looked around until my eyes rested upon a small and fluffy looking hill. I walked towards the base of the hill and climbed up, standing over the wide space of open land. A gaggle of geese passed over head and flew towards the setting sun. A light breeze moved along the golden field below and delicately moved the flowers, drifting a clutch of petals to dance in the sky. I suddenly felt a hand hold onto my wrist. I turned quickly to find Natsu with a grin on his face.

"Heya Luce! Why you all alone on this dock?" He asked, pulling me closer to him.

I looked at him confused and glanced to my side. I was no longer on the top of a hill surrounded by a field, but was at the bank of the ocean on a fisherman's dock.

"W-well, I am dreaming.. So my mind must have brought me here.." I told him.

He nodded in understanding and walked over to the side of the dock, still holding my wrist. We sat down on the side and dipped our bare feet into the water.

"So, you excited for tomorrow?" He asked, looking at me with his normal smile.

"Of course I am! I kinda missed some of last time cause I was sick, but I feel as healthy as a horse right now!" I smiled and looked down at my feet. "Your the only reason why I even got to see the blossoms that night, and I'm very great full for it.."

I felt his gaze soften and I looked back toward him.

"You do realize why I did that, right?" He asked, taking my free hand into his.

I lightly blushed at this and gave him a questionable look.

"B- because we're best friends!" I smiled.

He lightly shook his head and looked down towards our intertwined hands.

"I....I did it because I....I Lo-"

I sat up quickly in my bed. 'Well..that was a weird dream....'

I removed my bed sheets and swung my legs over the side of my bed, sitting on the edge until I hoisted myself onto my feet. 'I think what Levy was thinking is getting to my head...'

     After stretching, I went into my bathroom to brush my teeth and comb my hair. Once all that was done and I got changed, and left my apartment to go shopping.

    If I don't go shopping every so often, my fridge get completely wiped clean. I'd buy a whole fridge of food and eat only a little, only to look and find two numbskulls eating more than three people's worth of food!

    I got some meat and fish followed by more bread, some eggs, milk, butter, sugar, carrots and other veggies. When I was done shopping for food, it was already after-noon. As I walked back home with my arms full with bags, I felt a few of my bags get lifted away from me.

   I turned and saw Natsu.

"Hey Luce! Need any help?" He asked, already holding two of my bags.

"U-uh s-sure!" I handed him another bag and together we headed back to my apartment.

    We got inside and I put my groceries away. Natsu was patiently sitting at the table and fiddling with his thumbs. He seemed kinda nervous for some reason..oh well. At least he's not avoiding me like yesterday..

"Hey Natsu?" I asked

   He lifted his head to look at me and hummed a 'what?'

"Why were you avoiding me yesterday?"

    Their was a bit of silence. He moved his eyes a bit down from mine to prevent eye contact. 'Why is he acting like this?'

"Look, Natsu.. I know that their is something you aren't telling me... Mira said that you told her not to tell me something, and I've been thinking about what it could be ever since...you don't have to tell me, but please don't avoid me because of it.."

    He nodded and took in a deep breath.

"Sorry for making you feel anxious about it Luce...I was just feeling kinda, off yesterday and didn't want to talk much..."

    Even though I knew he wasn't being completely honest, I dropped it.

"Okay, well.. You better get home soon.. I'm going to take a bath and get ready for the festival." I walked out of the kitchen area and over to my door.

    Natsu stood up and walked over towards me.

"Okay, see you there." He smiled

    I smiled back and nodded, opening the door for him to exit. After he left and I closed the door, I went into my bathroom and started to run the bath water.

The bathtub was full within a few minutes so I stripped and turned the water off. After about twenty minuets, I washed my hair and scrubbed my body. I let the tub drain out and wrapped a towel around me. I brushed through my hair and started to dry it with another towel.

While my hair was wrapped, I went out to my bedroom and took off the towel covering my body. I opened my drawers and got dressed into my under garments and silk robe. The robe was white with pink and purple blossoms with gold trim.

    When my hair was dry, I went back into my bathroom and started to loosely side braid my hair. I took my purple magnolia hair clip and clipped it to the side of my head. Once I was done with my hair and make up, I was finally ready to go join the rest of the group at the park. I grabbed my gate keys (cause why not?) and left my apartment.
