It's been three days since Geoff's accident. I'm starting to notice differences in him. He wouldn't eat normal food unless we forced him. He would murmur the weirdest things in his sleep. I swear the bug is already taking over his mind. I always make sure that I try and "cure" the bite at least three times a day. Nothing seems to be spreading, which is good news. Just his zombie like arm and crazy mind. I watched him sit in the corner, his eyes glossy as he stared intently at his arm. I held back the tears that were threatening my eyes. Someone placed a hand on my shoulder and it was Jack. He nodded his head in the opposite direction, and I followed him into another room. He closed the door behind him and turned towards me. "I have something to show you." He pulled out a folder from his bag and opened it, revealing files. "This is from the CDC building we were in." He pointed to a page "This shows the plan of what they were going to do to any survivors they saw." I nodded for him to continue. He pointed to a map with a description and said "And there in Austin, Texas. That is our next destination. They have a secret lab there and they're trying to find the cure to all of this. We can trust them with your... condition." He said. "From the border of California to Austin?! That's going to take like a month!" I said outraged. "It's our only chance." Jack said and my thoughts trailed off. I've never been to Texas. I've always wanted to see what it would look like... But since all of this has happened... "Alright, we'll have to break it to the others." I pointed out. He rubbed the back of his neck "Yeah... Would you mind...?" I nodded and walked out of the room and towards the others. "Hey guys, group meeting." I called and everyone huddled up, except for Geoff. He stayed in the corner and looked out the window. "We have to get to Austin, Texas." I blurted out. "What! Now?" Michael asked. "Yes, there's a secret lab there and we have to reach it in order to find a cure." I explained. "But it's like a month's walk!" Gavin whined. "Shut the fuck up you little pussy!" I slapped Gavin "Now listen here, who escaped the deadly CDC lab?" I asked "...Us" the four muttered. "Who saved me from being killed by the CDC and zombies?" "Us!" "And who are the bravest lads ever and helped me, Geoff, and Jack while hoards of zombies were surrounding?" "US!" I smiled. "Now THAT is how you do an inspirational speech!" "So... Austin, Texas?" Geoff spoke up. We all turned and stared at him. He hasn't spoken in weeks. I nodded "Will that be alright for you?" I asked. He said yeah. "Lets start packing out guys." I ordered them and they set off.

I zipped up my bag after I stuffed all my supplies in. "Ready to go?" "Almost!" I heard Ryan yell from a different room. I sighed and sat down in the main room. I looked across at Geoff and he was shaking. "Oh Geoff! Buddy, you okay?" I asked and I got up and ran to his side. His eyes were closed and he was mumbling gibberish. I slowly reached out my hand to touch his face. He grabbed my wrist with his zombie hand and his eyes opened. Bright blue eyes, all zombies had those bright blue eyes. "GEOFF!!" I screamed and he pinned me to the floor. He was screaming like a madman. "HELP!!!" I screamed. Geoff's head lashed around and he slowly went down to my neck, mouth opened. Before he could even touch my neck, Jack and Ryan pulled him away from me. Jack screamed "Geoff! Snap out of it!" He slapped the mindless Geoff across the face and his eyes shut closed. He went limp onto the ground and groaned. His eyes slowly opened, his eyes back to normal. "What the- the fuck." He breathed heavily. I sat back on the floor with my eyes wide, breathing heavily. "What Happened?! I just blacked out." He stuttered. "You just fucking- attacked me. Almost bit me." I breathed out. Geoff put his head in his hands. "I'm fucking losing it guys, i can't go on like this." He took Michael's gun from Michael's belt and shoved it in my hands. "Just do it! I can't cause anymore trouble. I already know I'm a fucking goner. C'mon, pull the god damn trigger." He kept ordering me. I held the gun, shocked. I slowly put it down. "We can't do this to you Geoff, we ARE going to find the cure. We can handle you. We'll take care of you." I said and he calmed down a little. Everyone was silent, and they kept their distance from Geoff. He got up and put the gun back in my hands. "Next time I do this," Geoff said "Don't hesitate to pull the trigger."
