Who they wanted her to be

She took a deep breath,
She counted to three,
A picture in her head,
Of who they wanted me to be.

They wanted her to be normal,
Happy and kind.
They never thought,
That this girl would be blind.

Not blind by the meaning,
But blind in the heart.
Blinded by darkness,
Blinded by the dark.

She walks around lifeless,
Her heart beating but dead.
A walking corpse
She is lost inside her head.

Things have no meaning,
At least not anymore.
She is not how she was,
How she was once before.

She is one of the living
But one of the dead.
A part of her is missing.
She hangs on by a thread.

She hung her head low,
Took one final bow.
She stepped off the edge
Saying one final vow.

"I will not change who I am.
As hard as any of you try,
This is me giving up,
This is one last goodbye."

I wrote because I didn't know what to do. When my friend was out of school sick one day I realized that I'm all alone.

But I had grown attached to my friend and couldn't really handle being alone much. When ever I was home we would call and text each other for hours.

He didn't have a perfect life either but he wasn't depressed like me. I wouldn't let him be either. I needed to talk to him, to get lost in his life, to help fix his problems, I needed him right next to me.

So when ever he wasn't at school I did struggle. I would never admit it to him now, and I wouldn't have to. Some how he always knew. That's why he was rarely ever sick. Cause he knew that I need him.
