Chapter-13

Sameer and Ashwin were left alone. Sameer was lying on the sofa resting his right arm over his forehead and at the same time watching Ashwin squintingly . After sometime he started massaging his chest with the palm of his left hand trying to alleviate his pain.

After awhile he sees Ashwin walking towards Sameer and pulls one of the chairs in order to sit. Sameer's distress expression changes into anger as soon he saw Ashwin trying to start a conversation. He tries to get up but Ashwin insists him to be in the same position. Ashwin was ashamed of his immoral behavior.

Sameer was about to burst out his anger when Ashwin apologies to him,"look! Sameer we have been friends from more than a decade and you know I hardly do such things but it was you who started this fight. And I really am very sorry for my act."

Sameer rolled his eyes and stopped rubbing his chest," But you know how to hit Mary because she is weaker than you. Isn't?"

"Sameer Bhai(brother) we don't have any personal animosity. The thing is that I am scared of losing my daughter and the way you were threatening me at that time I din't know how to react to that situation but I wanted to stop you so whatever seemed correct at that situation I did that. But I never knew things will get so worse." Ashwin felt so guilty that he was ignoring Sameer's eye.

" Then if you understand your problem than why the fuck you are making things complicated. You can understand your pain if you lose Ashkira but do you understand Mary's pain. Every now and then she starts crying. If Ashkira is your heart than she is Mary's soul." he speaks in disappointment.

Ashwin went silent.

"Look Ashwin you don't have any personal animosity with me but yes! I have and that too very strong and you know why. And I hate you for that but I would tell you two things take it as a tips or fact.

First, the more you will push Ashkira from the truth the more it will trigger her towards the truth. So you better tell her orelse Ashkira is a big girl now she will investigate it by herself.

And second, set my Mary free from you. She has another life outside of this 4 walls of your house. And I can't tolerate you or anyone hurting Mary. Be it physical, mental or emotional and the truth is that you have done all of this." Sameer said grudgingly.

Ashwin nodes. He was left with no other option. His eyes were red and filled with tears he rests his elbows on his leg and covers his face. He was thinking by tomorrow morning everything will be different. Ashu would hate him. Everything will change.

At that time Mary and Ashkira comes with their dinner and place their meals on the center table. Ashkira runs towards the kitchen and brings four dishes and four bowls. Mary serves their dinner on their plates. Even though food was looking tasty but no one touched it except Ashkira and Sameer as Ashwin and Mary forced her to eat and Sameer had to take pain killer. Even Mary asked Ashwin to have some but he couldn't. He just drank some water.
