Oli's ~pov~
The pain in my cheek felt like
snapping a hundred rubber bands.I felt strong hands behind me, lifting me of the goose bump inducing tiles.
"You answer me when spoken to, child!" He sneers at me.
"S-sorry sir," I whimper with my hand still rubbing my reddening cheek.
"Well, now that I've done the head count,
I have to escort you little brats back to the train." He marches up to the front and we all walk in a
straight (ish) line."Are you okay?" June mutters under her breath, I could
here the concern
in her words."Yeah... are you?"
I hear her sigh,
"I'm better I think, don't know really," she whispers hesitantly. We walk through the mazes of hallways, with all our feet squeaking on the floor.
I felt my heart race a little bit when I looked
around at the eerily clean building.
We finally reach the elevator to go up.
He separates us so he can send us up to the way
we came in.Luckily Finn, June and I were
in the same group to go up.
The lift beeps as it slides open with ease.
I look in the mirror on the walls of the lift.
I notice how frail most of us look
from the lack of food.I tried to comb back my wavy hair out of my eyes, but it doesn't
seen to listen.
The ride up took almost a minute,
which indicates we were pretty
far down.
The door opens with
another beep into
the almost spaceship looking
room.There are soldiers standing in
the corner with large
guns in there
gray rubber gloved hands.
it gave me chills to why they
would even
need guns around a bunch of kids."Head group jd7 out to the
train," a voice that could cut
rocks barked at the soldiers.
The light blinded me as we finally walked out.
They led us out onto a platform that
stood over tall plain grass that
swayed in the warm morning
wind.We wait seated in the comfortable
black seats for around twenty minutes before we felt the train lurch forward into the morning air.Finn, June and I got a section
all to ourselves, (that's pretty lucky if I do say so myself)"It's no fair you get the window seat Finny," I whine pouting my lips out
just for the
dramatic affect."Well Olive, I am not getting up,
so you might just have to deal with it.""Stop calling me Olive!"
I smiled because I did secretly loved it."Then stop calling me Finny, and
maybe I'll think about it
olive," Finn sticks out his tongue, mocking me.June's €pov€
I rolled my eyes at them, I
couldn't help wonder where Winnie was."I'm gonna go and walk
around while you two keep
doin whatever this is."
I gestured my hand vaguely towards them.
They both stick out
their tongues in sync and laugh.I walk (well more of a skip)
down the aisle looking for Winnie.I come to a halt when I spot
her curled up with a book next to the window
in a section she
had all to herself."How did you manage to
sneak a book onto the train?"
I asked her after I plopped in next to her."Shhhh, it's a secret.
I stare with
shock as I see she had a few
cuts and bruises on the side of her face that was
hidden behind the green book."Who did this to you? What did you do,?" I touch the cuts not
trying to hurt her." I might have gotten caught sneaking out," she mutters.
I take her hands that are covered
in scrapes and different shades of
purple and green."What did they do to you Winnie?"
"I don't wanna talk about it," she replied with a sigh.
We sat in silence for a few moments until the meal trolley came.
We both got sandwiches and water.
I bet Finn and Oli got all sweets, I smiled to myself at that."Are you worried June?" Winnie
questioned with a hint of nervousness written on her face."Yeah, but I just wish no one else had to die, they don't
deserve to.""Ten minutes"
"I should go back to
Oli and Finn, they've been
fighting like an old
married couple."
I said the last part in a flat tone."Will I see you in the forest?"
She asked."I hope so," I rubbed her shoulder gently, and with that I left.
"Hey June," Oli had the
brightest grin on his face."Have you guys stopped arguing?"
I wiggle my eyebrow."Let's just say I won this round"
Finn replied, with a lopsided smile"Oh yeah and how did you do that,"
I spoke as I sat."It's my secret,"
Finn said in a fruity voice.I rolled my eyes at that.
We all felt the shuddering stop of the train
as we arrive at our destination,
I sucked in a deep breath.Ugh I didn't want to go out of the train.
