Percy's POV

"Ugh." I groaned as I grabbed my stomach, desperately trying to stop the flow of blood from the gaping gash. "Just a little bit further, I'm almost... There." My eyesight was blurry from the loss of blood. Scratches and cuts leaked thick red blood, and I'm pretty sure that I'm missing a couple of eyebrow hairs; no thanks to that burst of fire that was spewed at my head. I staggered up the stairs and slammed into a plain wooden door. "M-mom?" I whispered, taking the hidden key from out of the mail box and stumbling as I unlocked the door. I limped into the kitchen, gasping for breath. "Mom?" I called, wincing as I felt something shift in my chest. I heard footsteps quickly approaching, and I leaned up against the counter for support. "Percy? Is that-" my mom stopped and dropped the bowl of cookies she had held in her hand. "Oh my gosh! Percy! What-what happened?" She ran towards me, and I croaked, "Ambush, public, fight, lost, slightly injured, may need medical attention, Chiron?" My mom grabbed the first aid kit and helped me down the stairs. "Get in the car. We're getting you to Camp Half-Blood."

Horns blared as my mom sped through the streets, going well above the speed limit. Light and shapes swam in my eyesight, and my arms itched from the swathes of bandages that were stained red. "Percy, honey, are you ok?" My mom asked, worried hanging over her like a dark cloud. "I'm fine. Just a couple of scrapes." I mumbled. "Just a couple of SCRAPES? Percy, you look like you just walked out of another WAR!" My mom yelled. "Nope. No war. Just a mob of monsters, and a lost little girl." I sighed. "A lost little girl?" I nodded. "Yeah. When the monsters attacked, a little girl got separated from her mother. I got her out, bad things happened, blah, blah, blah."  I summarized. My mom relaxed slightly. "Well, at least you're well enough that you're making jokes." I leaned my head on the cool glass with a small smile, and I was met with only darkness.

I gasped and bolted upright, wincing as the bright light burned my eyes. "Ahh." I groaned. Lifting a hand to to shield my eyes. I was in the Camp Med-bay. "Great." I muttered, swinging my legs over the side of the bed, "Now I look like I can't handle myself against a couple of monsters." I slowly walked out of the door and headed towards the lake, ignoring the looks of other campers that were directed at me. I quickly dove off of the dock and into the water, sighing as I felt completely at home. I stayed submerged for a couple of minutes before popping back up the surface and clambering onto shore. I walked back to the med-bay and peeled off the bandages, throwing them into the trashcan. I looked myself over, observing the damage. All of the cuts and gashes were sealed up, only faint red lines remained in their place. I heard the door slam open, and I turned around only to be tackled to the floor. "YOU SEAWEED BRAIN! YOU HAD ME WORRIED!!" Annabeth yelled. "Ok, ok! I'm sorry!" I groaned, wriggling out from her grasp and backing away. She stood up and glared. More footsteps could be heard, and the rest of the 7 along with Nico filed in. There was silence. "Welp, this is awkward." I stated, fiddling with the hem of my shirt. "We heard that you got ambushed. Are you ok?" Hazel broke the silence. I laughed and nodded. "Yeah. Just a couple of scrapes. Nothing to worry about." Annabeth eyed the bloody bandages in the trash. "That doesn't LOOK like nothing to worry about." I grinned. "I'm still breathing, aren't I?" Piper scowled and walked away. Nico gave me a wary glance before being ushered outside by Jason. When they all exited the building, I sat down on the bed and winced. I pulled up my shirt and saw an angry green gash. "Fantastic. Poison. Who doesn't love poison?" I whispered. I heard a rustling of papers, and I looked up to see Will Solace gaping at my abdomen. "Oh. Hey Will." I said as I quickly pulled down my shirt. Will set the papers down and glided over to me. "Wow. No answer. That's rude." I joked. Will didn't respond as he yanked my shirt up, eyes widening as he saw the wound. "Woah there Will! Being a little forward, are we?" "Percy, this looks bad." He said, grabbing some bandages and disinfectant. "It's just poisoned." Will shook his head. "Right?" Will sighed. "Percy, we don't have an antidote right now. This is really deep, and-oh gods, we need to get this fixed." Will started to rush around the room. "Dude. It's just a little cut from a non-important monster. I mean, sure, it stings a little, but I've been through worse." I replied, pulling my shirt down. "Percy, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!" Will yelled, slamming his fist on a table. I froze, shocked. Will never yells. The door was slammed open yet again as Nico ran in, hand on the hilt of his sword. "What's going on? I heard yelling...." He trailed off when he saw the worried look on Will's face. "Nothing's going on." I said. Will opened his mouth, and I cut him off. "We're just having a nice little conversation." I stated firmly, standing up. Nico turned to leave when Will blurted out, "Percyispoisonedanditisbadandwecan'tfixitandIdon'tknowwhattodo!" Nico froze, and after a minute, he whirled around, a dark expression on his face. "Are you injured, and you didn't tell us about it, Jackson?" He growled. "Uh, maybe." I shrugged. "I didn't want to worry anyone. I was stupid enough to get cornered, so It's my fault." I said, brushing my hair out of my face. "Let me see it." Nico demanded, yanking up my shirt and seeing the blood-soaked bandages tinted with green. He paled slightly. "Geesh, is it that bad? You people are acting like I'm dead or something." I grumbled. "Percy, you said you got this from a monster who was part of an ambush that attacked you?" Will asked. I nodded. "Ok, but this isn't posion we've ever seen before." Will said. That got me. "What? I don't think I heard you right. I'm posioned by something, you dont know what it is, and you don't have the antidote?" I said calmly. He nodded. "I'm sure it's nothing." I said, walking towards the door. "What did you just-" I cut Nico off. "Don't worry about it! I'm positive I won't die. Maybe. Possibly." I said, "Thanks Will. Have a nice morning. Er, afternoon." I walked by the lake before stopping in my tracks. What was I going to tell Annabeth? "Man, I'm so screwed."

*****

Okay. So maybe I lied, just a little bit. It wasn't just a few monsters, but like 50 of them. Oh, and they were out for my blood. Fun, right? I sighed and winced slightly when the stinging increased on my abdomen. I heard someone running, and before I could blink, I was pinned on the ground by Annabeth. "Will told me! He told me! Oh gods, Percy..." She trailed off, and I could see her eyes shining with unshed tears. "Wise Girl, It's ok. It's ok. I'm ok." I whispered, stroking her hair with my fingers. She gently slapped me across the face, sniffing. "Seaweed Brain, never EVER withold information like that from me again." She cried. I smiled. "I promise. I also promise that I'll be fine." she looked at me strangely. "H-how?" I smiled and hugged her, "Because I'm with my family."
