Leo's POV
Stupid. Useless. Runt. Third Wheel. Loner. Those thoughts echoed in my head, spinning endlessly. "Heh. Look at me. I'm pathetic." I laughed hollowly. I was nestled in the nook of the entrance to Cabin 9 in the woods, sitting in the dark alone with my thoughts. "Really? Cause I don't see you as pathetic." A voice echoed from the woods, a figure coming into view. "Percy?" I asked, wondering what he was doing here. "Yeah." He walked over to me and sat down besides me, staring at the moon. In that moment, he looked kind of sad. "Do you really think you're pathetic?" He asked, startling me out of my thoughts. "Why do you care?" I asked, "It's not like you understand or anything." Percy gave a small smile. "When I was younger, I was abused." My eyes widened in shock, "I felt like I was the most useless thing on the planet. I felt like I was a sore thumb." He gave a small laugh. "I never fit in. I felt like I was always the third wheel. I thought there was something wrong with me, because that's what I was told everyday." He paused. "I'm not you Leo, and I never will be. I won't pretend that I know what you've went through, what you're going through now. But I do know what it's like to feel completely useless and alone." My mouth was open in shock. The Savior Of Olympus? Abused? "W-what-" I was cut off by Percy. "Don't say anything. To the others, I mean. No one else knows, not even Annabeth, not even the Gods." I was stunned. "Why did you tell me?" I squeaked. "Because I know I can trust you." There was a moment of silence. "Have you ever noticed how lonely the moon looks?" He whispered, face tilted to the moon. And for a split second, I saw him as he was. Not a Hero, not a Savior, not a Demi-God, but Percy. Just Percy. "Yeah." I smiled, "I have." And for the rest of the night, we sat in comfortable silence.
