Vic pov

It had been about two months since I asked Kellin out. Everything had been great. We'd gone on plenty of dates and Kellin had picked up hours at a Starbucks near his house. Also, with lots of hard work, he graduated and was looking at online colleges. He said he really wasn't interested in the actual college experience but he really wanted a degree. He also made me promise that in the fall I would start working towards getting a GED to finish highschool and then I would probably attend a community college. I like being in a classroom setting better, I learn better that way. I know if I tried to learn from home I'd get too distracted and lazy.

And last month, Kellin and his parents had made and agreement to split the costs of a used car, and I pitched in as well to help since I had been saving money recently just for spending. Kellin had ended up getting a neon blue Honda with torn up seats and a funky smell, but he didn't care. That car was freedom to him. And yes, he was one of those guys. The kind who treats their car like a small child.

Nonetheless, currently, his mom, him, and I are loading said car with boxes of his stuff. After lots of tears, his mother had agreed to let him move in with me. Him and I had decided we wanted to take the next step and start becoming even closer. His mom was very wary of us being alone together. She said her biggest concern was that it would bring back nostalgia from the drug addiction days and make us want to use again. So Kellin and I swore to her we'd look out for eachother make sure neither of us got close to drugs again,

His mother had kind of became a mother figure to me as well. So much so, that I would come over when Kellin was at work and spend time with her, just helping her out around the house, doing dishes, talking with her, whatever. I spent a lot of time at Kellins house, honestly. His family had kind of became like my family. When his cousins came over to visit a couple weekends ago, his mother introduced me as her second son (and hen she explained I was actually Kellins boyfriend) and I helped cook and played games with the kids and braided his cousins hair and let her do my make up (horribly, might I add.).

They had really opened their arms up to me.

"Vic??" Kellin said, waving his head in front of my face, breaking me from my thoughts. I focused back into the real world and looked at his smiling face, sweat covering his cheeks from the hot California heat.

"I asked if you want some lemonade before we go." He said. I nodded and followed him I to the house where his mom and dad were pouring glasses of pale yellow lemonade. His mother smiled at me and handed me a glass as well as Kellin. They leaned against the counter parallel to where him and I stood.

"Now, Vic," Kellins father started, giving me a stern look. "I expect to see Kellin at least once a week and know he's in amazing shape. I will be making surprise visits to your work to make sure you're there and sober. On top of that, do expect us to show up with very short notice for the same reasons. I'm trusting you with my one and only son, so you better be careful." He said, intimidation laced in him voice.

"I promise you I'll keep him safe, fed, and happy." I said with a smile, turning my gaze to Kellin at the end of my statement. He looked back at me and smiled as well.

"You better keep him fed! He loves spaghetti, so make lots of it."'his mom said, sounding offended at even the thought of Kellin not being well fed. I looked at her and laughed as well as the other two in the room.

And after some more hugs and threats, mostly on Kellins fathers end, we were off. Off to start our future.

I was setting the table for our guests tonight. Kellins mom and dad were coming over as well as my brother for dinner. I was excited to see Mike, it had been about a month since we'd last spoken. And I guess mom was more open to us seeing each other because he had told me she was 100% fine with it and he didn't have to lie to her like he normally did when talking to me or seeing me.
