Phineas' POV
I took a break from building today. Rebecca had made me think about something. Today Candace, Jeremy, and their daughter, Amanda, were coming over and I had decided I was going to ask Candace about it. She knew more about this kind of stuff than I did.
I heard a knock on our door and ran downstairs to find mom opening it. Candace stood there holding her daughter's hand with Jeremy by their side. A smile tugged at my lips as I watched them all hug.
"Hey, guys," I said as I made my way to the door.
Candace smiled. "Hey Phineas."
"Unca Phinas! Unca Phinas!" Amanda squealed.
She dropped Candace's hand and ran towards me, her arms outstretched. I caught her as she jumped into my arms and I swung her around.
"Weeeeeee!" she yelled.
I laughed as I sat her down.
"Unca Phinas what've you built?" she asked.
"Well all kinds of stuff," I said as we started walking to the kitchen. "A freeze ray, robots, invisibility suits, helicopters, you know, the usual."
With wide eyes she exclaimed, "So cooooool!!!"
I laughed as she ran upstairs, probably to either look for Ferb or play with some of Candace's old toys. Candace walked up to me, smiling. She placed her hand on my shoulder.
"So, how have you been?" she said.
"Oh, you know...I've been better," I told her while rubbing the back of my neck.
She immediately frowned. "What's wrong?"
"I need to talk to you."
She raised her eyebrows and I gestured for her to follow me upstairs. She followed me into my bedroom where we sat down on my bed.
"Sooooo...what is this about Phineas?" Candace questioned, a worried look on her face.
I took a deep breath and explained everything from meeting Rebecca to Isabella crying to the present.
"And now I don't know what to do or what is going on or why Isabella is so upset," I said.
Candace took in everything I said.
"To me it seems like this is your fault," she pointed out.
"Yeah, but what did I do?!"
"Wow Phineas...You really are still oblivious aren't you?"
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know if I should be saying this but..."
"Come on Candace! Please. I'm so confused and I'm scared. I hate seeing Isabella upset," I pleaded.
Candace's eyes softened. "Okay, fine...she's in love with you Phineas."
I sat there as Candace's words replayed in my mind. In...love...with me?
"No. No...sh-she isn't. Your messing with me," I said dumbfounded.
"Phineas, you need to talk to her. And I would suggest doing it sooner than later," she responded.
My sister got up and smiled.
"Don't worry Phineas, it will all turn out okay. We should head down though, it's almost time for dinner."
Candace walked out of the room leaving me there stunned. I sat there for a good five minutes, too shocked to move.
"Dinner!" I then heard my mom yell from downstairs.
I walked down and sat at the table where the food is being served.
I probably wouldn't even eat anything though.
I'd lost my appetite.
