I rushed up the stairs and opened the door to my bedroom.
I plopped onto my bed and threw my backpack across the room.
The heat still burning my face.
The memory repeated itself in my mind over and over.
W-we k-kissed.
HE KISSED ME!!
I screamed into my pillow.
"STUPID PETERY!!"
I heard a familiar chuckle come from my doorway.
"What did our neighbor do this time?"
I jerked my head up and saw Ben leaning against the doorway.
"W-why are you h-here?"
He signaled to the stairs.
"I need to back some meat or I might turn into my wolf form in the middle of the night."
I looked down.
"Right."
He walked over to me and crouched so we were the same level.
"Now tell me, dear friends of mine, why your face is the color of blood and your mouth stumbles over itself?"
I shoved my face back into my bed.
"He kissed me."
It was too muffled for him to hear.
"What?"
I glared at him.
"Don't make me repeat myself."
He tapped my nose.
"Come on, it can't be that bad. It's not like he kissed you..."
I looked away and his mouth opened in shock.
"HE KISSED YOU?!?!"
I shoved my hands over his mouth.
"Don't say it so loud, his windows open."
He gave me a confused look.
"How do you know that, your window's closed?"
"His window is always open, he doesn't like it being hot."
Ben lowered my hands.
"What?"
"He doesn't like hot places, that's why he hates the summer. That's also why he loves winter."
Ben smirked.
"When did you pay so much attention to Petery, Malina?"
I rolled my eyes.
"I mean, it's not like I watch him sleep. You know how attentive I can be about people. Plus,"
I smirked.
"I could see something that might finally get him to stop trying."
The smirk vanished and my heart sank for some reason.
Do I really want him to stop?
I hit my head with my hand.
What am I thinking? Of course I want him to...
I looked down at the ground.
Ben nudged me softly.
"You okay, pup?"
