Two

"Maddie, wake up. We're at your house now." Jaeden says shaking me lightly. I open my eyes and see my house. We walk inside and get ready for bed.
"Oh Angela, we only have 1 room left for you and Jaeden but the bed is a twin. I don't think both of you will fit." My mom says worriedly.
"Jaeden can stay in my room. He can sleep on the pull-out mattress under my bed. I won't mind." I say.
"If that's ok with Jaeden then that's ok with me." Angela tells me.
"Yeah. That's fine." Jaeden says.
"Ok. Maddie has 2 sinks in her restroom so you two can brush your teeth there." Dad says.
"Ok, have a goodnight." Jaeden says shaking mom and dad's hands. He gives his mom a hug and goes upstairs. We brush our teeth and head to bed.
"Um, well here's a pillow and blanket for you." I say handing Jaeden the stuff.
"Thanks. I'm not that tired yet, are you?" He asks.
"I'm kinda tired but not that much." I reply.
"Well, I'll just lay here and we can talk. Tell me a little about yourself." He tells me.
"I'm in 8th grade, I love food I swear, take me anywhere related to food and that'll make my day." I say quickly.
"I'm also in 8th grade, I'm in love with food too. I'm lactose intolerant so I can't have ice cream. I can only have ice cream at this special place, I'm an..." he pauses.
"You're what?"
"You're probably gonna freak out but I'm....a-an actor." He blabbers really fast.
"Cool. I've never been friends with an actor before." I say casually.
"You aren't gonna freak out?" He questions.
"Oh yeah. Oh my gosh you're an actor and I'm so happy I'm meeting you right now. Ahhhh! Can we take pictures?" I say sarcastically.
"Haha. I like your humor. Goodnight Maddie." Jaeden says.
"Goodnight Jaeden. I'll see you in the morning."
Timeskip to morning
I wake up to the sound of my alarm.
Beep beep
I turn off the alarm and check on Jaeden. He's not in bed.
"Finally you woke up." Jaeden says scaring me a little. He comes and sits on my bed.
"Morning Jae." I say blandly.
"Morning Mads." He says.
"I'm gonna get ready. I'll see you downstairs." I tell him.
I finish and head downstairs.
"Good morning mom, dad, and Angela." I greet them.
"Good morning!" They all say. I go over to sit next to Jaeden and eat my breakfast.
"Who are you talking to?" I glance over to his phone.
"Just my friend. Nothing much. I was thinking that maybe we could go to the park for a walk. Your house is right next to it anyway." Jaeden says.
"Yeah that'll be great. Can we go mom?" I ask.
"Yes but be home after an hour." She says and continues to talk to Angela.
We head out the door and walk.
"So....how was your morning?" I said trying to start up a conversation.
"It was weird but great."
There was an awkward silence.
"Wow, we're already here." I say.
"Look. There's a hotdog cart. Wanna get some?" He asks looking very interested into the hotdogs.
"Umm...sure but I don't have money." I reply sadly.
"I got 20 dollars in my pocket." He tells me taking out 20 dollars from his pocket.
"Ok then. I'll pay you back." I tell him.
"No, this one's on me."
"Are you sure Jaeden? Cuz like a have 5 dolla-" I get cut off by him.
"I told you I'll pay for this one. You don't need to pay me back Maddie." He says in a serious tone.
"Fine. Now let's get the hotdogs."
We go to the hot dog cart and get 2 hotdogs.
"These are good." I say with a stuffed mouth.
"Yes." Jaeden says with a full mouth.
"I was thinking, we could be best friends." The tall boy said.
"I'd like that." I smile and we start walking back home since it was already and hour.
We get inside the house. I over heard my mom saying something about Angela.
"Honey come here!" My mom yells but she isn't mad. "Jaeden and his mom might be staying a while. We got the news that their house was burned down by a psycho person." My mom says crying.
"N-n-no. This c-can't be." Jaeden says shaking and dropping on the floor.He starts to cry and runs up to my room.
"Jaeden!" I try reaching out to get him. No use.
"Let him be for a while. Maybe wait 5 minutes ok dear?" Angela says.
"I'm so sorry Angela." I say walking over to her and give her a hug. We both start crying.
"I'm going to check on Jaeden." I say walking up the stairs.
"Jae? I'm coming in." I see him sobbing. He stands up and I give him a hug.
"Jaeden, it's ok. I'm here now." I say trying to comfort him.
"No it's not Maddie. I grew up there. I had so many great memories you know? I learned how to skateboard there. I-I loved my home." He says choking on his words.
He stands up wiping his tears.
"Jaeden wait." I say standing up. I was crying too. I run over to him and hug him.
We stand there giving hugs and comforting each other.
Time skip to night
"We're going to bed now." Jaeden says. We get ready and head to bed.
"Umm, you're probably gonna think this is weird but um...can I sleep with you tonight?" He asks.
"Jaeden, of course you can. You've been through a lot today. You need someone to keep you company." 
I face the opposite direction of Jaeden so it's not that weird. I hear crying.
"Jae are you ok?" I turn around.
"Y-yeah. T-thanks." He stutters. He looks like he needs a hug.
"Do you need a bear hug?" I say trying to get him to feel better. He nods. I give him a hug and I feel his tears on my back. He then falls asleep. I grab a tissue and wipe all his tears away.
"Goodnight Jaeden." Was the last thing I said to him.
