* John’s POV *
“We meet again.” Kayla’s dad uttered as soon as he got inside the room, shaking my hand. He was called in and flew home the minute he had heard of what happened to Kayla, leaving the business conference he was attending at the moment. “And you’re lucky, I still like you.” He teased, though I have no idea how I would react to that.
“Your friend told me everything that happened.” He told me. As if noticing my puzzled look, he went to look behind him and pointed towards Bailey’s direction as she smiled. “So any news?”
“Still the same. No improvements.” I told him as I looked down on the ground, ashamed of what happened to Kayla. Again, I had put her life in danger. Always breaking her heart and hurting her physically.
“It was an accident.” He uttered as I felt his hand on top of my shoulder, patting it.
“It should have been me. I deserved it more than her.” I uttered as Kayla’s dad shook his head no, just like what Len told me last week. No one deserved it, but still I could feel all the guiltiness building inside of me.
Hours, days and weeks have passed as Kayla was still in her hospital bed as my heart pounded, in sync with the monitor’s beeping sound, wishing it was Kayla’s heart. She was sleeping peacefully, like Snow White. If only fairytales were real, perhaps a true love’s kiss would make her wake up. However, I’m not even sure if I’m still that guy. After everything I’ve done to her, I was sure I wouldn’t be that guy.
“John, they’re here.” Colin uttered as he entered the door, nodding my head that I’ll follow soon.
“Good luck, brother.” Len uttered, I smiled. Even Harley gave me a good luck kiss as I laughed.
“Can I borrow Ava for one moment, please?” I asked as Len gave me a teasing look as if he didn’t want me anywhere near Ava, but soon, he told her that it was fine.
“You know where I’ll be in case something happens.” Len told Ava as she nodded.
“As if I’m going to do something you wouldn’t like…” I rolled my eyes, but was joking about it. “Call me if anything happens?” I asked him as he nodded.
As we were about to go out, Len called Bailey. “Hey, can we talk?” He uttered as I slightly pushed Ava out of the room, assuring her it wasn’t anything. The two needed the talk and today was the right time. And it wasn’t because I liked Bailey more than Ava or anything, I was just here to help a brother out, just like how he had helped me these past few weeks.

“Lenny!” A blonde haired guy shouted as he ran towards my direction. But when he had reached me, he stood in front of me with a disappointed look on his face as he turned around, meeting Kellie’s figure. “You told me we’re going to see Lenny, but he doesn’t have that little blonde streak thing. Ugh, evil woman!” Sparky ranted as I laughed and watched Ava’s reaction.
“Hello again, Sparky.” I chuckled and fake coughed as I pointed towards Ava’s direction. “Lenny’s girlfriend.”
“Omg no, what does he see in her?” Sparky teased as I whispered to Ava he was just kidding. “I swear, you gotta celebrate your last hours with him because I know when he sees me again, you’ll be out of his life!”
“Exactly, my question.” Joanna uttered as I turned towards her direction.
“But I’m his special…thing.” Sparky frowned, and before this gets out of hand, I told them to sit down on the available seats in the hallway, while I stood in front of them, heaving a sigh.
