*FLASHBACK ANA'S P.O.V.*

"That shouldn't be a priority to you right now Kiana. You should focus on your education!", My father screamed

"Why can't you just let me be myself? I want to explore dad.", I yelled back

"Wake up Kiana! This isn't some FAIRYTALE!"

"I'm not a kid. I know what the world is like dad. i'm not gonna throw my life away like you did!"

My father's face shifted to a shock. He inhaled quickly and sighed as he looked to the living room floor.

"You know what? You're right I did throw my life away. But I don't want you to make the same mistake that I did.", My dad finished

He then grabbed his keys and headed out of the front door, and that's when I saw my brother standing at the bottom of the stairs.

"He's just trying to help you sis.", Elliot said as he ran after my dad to the car.

I heard the engine start and not long after they drove away, lights shifted from one end of the room to the other. I started to breathe unevenly as tears rolled down my cheek and my face started to burn with rage. I was so angry at my dad, but I knew deep down in my heart that all he wanted was for me to have nothing but the best. I had stood in the middle of the living room for a couple of hours, it was 10:12pm. The house phone had rung a couple of times and I had just let it. I finally brought myself to walk out the back door, and started a path to rachel's backyard I just wanted to let her know what had happened, but she was already at my gate panting with a phone in her hand and tears in her eyes.

*NOW IN THE CAR*

"Hey! Are you alright?,", grayson asked with his hands on the wheel

I snapped out of my daze

"Huh? Oh yeah. No i'm fine.", I lie

"Why are your eyes red?, was it that person you were on the phone with?", He asked

"It's nothing just pay attention we have to hurry and get Ethan.", I said

As Grayson stepped on the gas. My heartbeat quickened, it was all so fast, this feeling was all too familiar.

*FLASHBACK*

"Elliot and.. And this guy.. And-", Rachel mumbled

"Rachel what happened? WHAT HAPPENED!?", I screamed holding shoulders

"Ana", she whispered putting her face in my shoulder crying "Your dad was shot."

My heart sank, everything around me turned to a blur. I pushed rachel off of me and started to breathe uneasily. Everything turned dizzy, as I fell to my knees. Rachel slowly came to my side holding her arms out to me.

"Kian-"

"NO! NO!, he's okay he's okay.", I denied

"Kia-"

"Where's Ellie? What happened to Ellie?", I screamed squeezing Rachel's arm searching through her eyes.

But even then her eyes turned into more of a disappointment and then.

With more tears rolling down her cheek she sighed. "Kiana.... Your dad was held at gunpoint at a stoplight.... Two guys forced your dad and Ellie out of the car.... And.... and.", she

"WHAT!?", I screamed eagerly

"Ellie jumped in front of your dad and stopped two bullets from hitting his chest, but.... The third bullet hit your dad's rib.."

"NO!NO!", I screamed denying it "NO!YOU'RE LYING! YOU'RE LYING!"

"KIANA STOP IT! Stop it.", she cried holding me in her arms

We sat there in the grass of my backyard and I screamed crying into her chest, the breeze had carried my heart away, and the dark night grew cold as the stars watched from above nothing was the same and it never would be again.
