BELLA

I'm hurt.

There's no denying that the things that Harry said to me on the way here hurt me. But I also understand why he said them. I understand that that's just how he is, and I'm not surprised by any of it. I guess I was just hoping that whenever we ended up having that conversation, it would've gone differently.

Either way, Harry and I are here for a wedding, and this is supposed to be a fun time for both of us. I need to at least try to forget everything that happened earlier today and focus on the rehearsal dinner.

"Can you zip my dress, please?" I ask Harry as he walks out of the bathroom in his suit. I must admit that he looks very handsome. "You look nice." I tell him softly as his fingers tug the zipper up my back.

"I'd say the same to you, but that would be an understatement." He mumbles, kissing my neck and pulling away from me.

I smile at him, walking over to my shoes and slipping them onto my feet. "Are you ready to go?" I ask once I take one last look at myself in the mirror.

"Yes, ma'am." He nods, grabbing his car keys from the nightstand.

I follow him out of the hotel room and down to the lobby. When we get to the big glass doors, I realize that it's pouring outside. It's a good thing the rehearsal dinner is indoors.

We walk outside, standing beneath the awning, and the valet makes his way over to us. Harry hands him the keys, and we wait for him to return. We wait in silence. There has been a lot of silence since the conversation that we had this morning.

"You okay?" Harry asks, breaking that silence.

"Yeah." I nod, swallowing deeply. "I just hope it doesn't rain tomorrow." I respond awkwardly.

What the hell was that, Bella? I know I'm still a little upset with him, and things are a little weird between us, but what the hell was that?

"Uh...yeah. That would suck." He humors me, looking off into the distance.

God, this tension is killing me.

Thankfully, it's broken quickly as the valet comes around the corner with Harry's car. He pulls up right in front of us, leaving it running and opening the passenger door for me.

With a brief thank you to the valet, Harry and I are on our way to the rehearsal dinner. The wedding is taking place at a country club on the beach, and the dinner will be at that same country club tonight, but in the banquet hall.

It's only a ten-minute drive, but I intend to end the feud between us before those ten minutes are over.

"Harry." It's my turn to break the silence. "Can I say something?"

"Of course."

"Earlier, you said everything you needed to say, but I didn't get a chance to." I say, taking a deep breath. He doesn't respond, but I can tell that he's listening. "Yes, marriage is something that has always been important to me. And yes, it hurt a lot when you said that you didn't feel the same way. But I understand why you feel that way, and I still love you...so much."

My voice becomes a whisper as I try to hold back the emotions that are threatening to creep through.

"I don't want things to be weird between us because of that conversation." I explain. "Especially because there is plenty of time for us to think about all of that stuff. It's not something that we even need to consider right now."

At this point, I'm not sure if I'm trying to comfort him or myself. It's when he reaches over and places his hand on my leg, that I realize I'm comforting myself. He knows it too.
