All the women who are independent, throw your hands up at me.
All the honeys who makin' money, throw your hands up at me.

It has been 3 months since my ex boyfriend broke up with me. For what? Another girl, she was prettier, had bigger breasts, a better ass, she was perfect. The exact opposite of who I am. Bigger and better in many ways.

"Claire, can you please get out of your room?" Stacy, my housemate and best friend, shouts through the closed door. I was still sulking, laying on my hard wood floors eating my nth ice cream bucket. Cheeks covered in dried mascara, making me look like a raccoon. Hair all messed up, eyes red and puffy. I was a wreck, a complete mess.

I took the last scoop of my ice cream, Coffee Toffee Bar Crunch from Ben & Jerry's, "No. I'm good here." I yelled as the ice cream was still in my mouth finding its way down my throat.

"Claire Elizabeth Price, get your ass out of that room or I'm breaking your door down." The voice of my other housemate, Luna, knocks on my door. I groaned, not minding her threat. "Fuck it."

My door swings open, the lock breaking. "It's been three months, Claire. It's time to move on." Stacy grabbed my hands and dragged me to the bathroom.

"I loved him. He was my everything." At least, I thought he was. I cried as she pulled me up pushing me to the shower and grabbing a towel.

"Honey." She says with a pitiful smile. I got the towel from her hands and entered the shower turning the hot water on to pour down on my body. She stayed in the bathroom with me, making sure I didn't sulk and just stand there doing nothing. I finished up washing up all the grease out of my hair, the makeup off of my face, the dirt all over my body from lying on the floor. I moved the shower curtain away making me exit with the towel covering my body.

I looked at myself in the mirror, I haven't seen myself in weeks. "Feel better?" Stacey asked as she rubbed my back, calming me down.

I went back to my room dragging my feet across the floor, gripping onto the towel for it not to fall and reveal anything of my body. Luna was standing by my closet. "You have really nice clothes here, C. Why don't you use them?"

I shrugged, maybe because I haven't gone out of the house for three months only leaving for grocery shopping and more ice cream. "Here. Wear this, with this. And this." She says picking out an outfit.

"Where are we going?" I asked as I looked at the outfit she chose for me. I slid on the underwear that was already placed on my bed. Put on a layer of lotion on my body and putting on the outfit Luna pulled out for me.

She smiles, "You'll see. You'll like it."

As long as it has nothing to do with my ex, I'll be fine. I think.

I applied a makeup that fit well with my outfit, nothing much. Foundation, mascara, sparkly eyeshadow, eyeliner, highlights, all those makeup necessities. I exited my room to see Luna and Stacey waiting by the living room all dressed and on their phones. "Are we leaving, or what?"

Their jaws were dropped, "Claire, you look amazing." they said in unison as a small smile appeared on my face, the first time in a long time.
