"Anthony." I called his attention as we continued to stroll down the beach. Shirts splashed in blue paint, pants stained with blue from the smoke grenades, our hands intertwined as it swinged back and forth, the water hitting the shore, the sun ready to set. It has been eight hours since we've found out about the sex. He hums to respond. "What if I'm not a great mum?" I worried. I never had a loving mother by my side. She never taught me what was wrong or right, it was all me. There was nobody to tell me how stupid boys could be and how tough school was going to be. I never had a mum to encourage me to do this or that. 7 years, I've known her. She was always so busy, work here, work there. Never enough time for me. I didn't have a mum. Point, blank, period.
"What makes you say that, baby?" He asks stopping our tracks. The ocean breeze calming to hear. "You'll be a great mom. I know it."
I looked down at our hands, intertwined with one another. His soft touch able to calm me down, they were like two puzzle pieces. A perfect fit. "That's easy to say."
"Baby." He calls me with the nickname he gave me and brings my face up with his left hand, cupping my cheek. "You are a great girlfriend. A great friend. I'm very sure you'll be a very great mother." He kissed my forehead, enough to make me feel safe. "You're beautiful, smart, lovable and the most caring person I know. I love you."
"I love you too." He pulls me into a hug, my head laying on his chest. The sun touching the horizon. Blue skies turned to pink and orange hues. We walked back to the house. His arm draped around my shoulders as I lean my head towards him. The sound of birds squawking and the shuffling of sand accompanied by the water pushing back and forth was the only thing you could hear at this point. We reached the back of the house, entering the sliding glass doors. Luna was happily dancing and whistling to the radio as she cooked dinner. Stacey preparing the table and grabs the pitcher of juice from the refrigerator. I smiled at how happy they were. I smiled because they were my family. They showed me love, and represented care. They were there for me in my accomplishments, they were there for me when my heart was broken. I love them.
"Hey there, love birds." Luna smirks and places the plate of fried chicken on the table.
"Ohio Fried Chicken." Anthony smiles. "It's not the same without the boys."
I giggled at his silliness. "When are we going to tell them?" I sat by the dining table. "Chance, Jake, the whole of Team 10?"
He cleared his throat, "Maybe we should tell my parents first." That, I wasn't so sure of. I mean, I love Tony and Lucinda, they're both such amazing people (God bless them also for bringing such a wonderful person into this world). But, I don't think they'll be happy that I'm pregnant without even marrying his son. I don't blame them, they just want to protect his wellbeing. If I were a mom, I wouldn't allow that. If my son got a girl pregnant, that's gonna be a problem. What if they don't end up being the one for each other? "They love you, they'll love the baby too." He noticed the look on my face. He'll be visiting Ohio for a few days or weeks to visit his family and friends, I guess it's a great time. "Want to come with me?"
I shook my head no, "It's okay if I don't come. Spend some time with your friends and family, I'm sure they missed you. Yeah, I'll miss you. But, I guess I can survive." I rambled. Something I've been doing for the past few weeks now. I just kept eating and talking non-stop. I put a forkful of mashed potato into my mouth.
"Are you sure? Because I don't mind you coming along." He smiles, his dimples making me fall for him again.
"I mean, I don't mind spending time with your family." I smiled as his gorgeous features beamed at me. Man, was I lucky..
_____
We were lying down on the white love sack by the bookshelf in my house as Luna practices on her guitar their latest single. Stacey was on the phone with Todd as usual, he proposed to her just a few days ago. She was beaming with happiness, zeal radiating off of me. I played with Anthony's hair as he watches whatever was on the tv, his head lying on my lap. Baby names were all I could think of. What was the perfect name for this little boy. (Comment some ideas!) Minutes, and minutes of just thinking for a good name. And then, hormones decided to show up again. I got hungry. I didn't want any ice cream or anything sweet. "Babe, I want pizza."
Anthony chuckles, the vibration of his movement can be felt in my sweatpants. He looks up to me, his phone already in hand. He opens the Postmates app and quickly goes to Domino's and order a simple Hawaiian pizza and pepperoni pizza. I don't care what you think but I think pineapples go on pizza. (I mentioned this earlier in a past chapter and didn't realize it until someone commented) They don't taste as bad as you imagine it to be. He orders the pizza and turns his phone off. We just had to wait.
Half an hour has passed, the pizza arrived as we all gathered in the living room to eat once more. "Are you staying over?" I asked Anthony as I took a nother slice of pizza.
"Hmm. We don't need a baby number two yet, the first one isn't even born yet." Stacey joked causing me to roll my eyes as everybody else laughed. "I'm kidding. I love you so much Claire, you know that."
I laughed at her save, "I love you too." The night went on as we ate and watched movies from Netflix the entire night. Anthony ended up staying the night as we slept in the living room, not bothering to go inside our own rooms.
