Winter hissed at her subconsciousness to shut the hell up and started fiddling with her fingers.

she heard him shuffling around, probably to grab his earphones as usual.

"so-" both of them started.

her eyes widened and she looked away. "uh-you can go first."

she felt his gaze burning through her backside.

oh God please help me

"i..i'm sorry," Leo started, and Winter swalloed thickly. "i have not been here for the past week because-"

he choked.

"you don't have to tell me."

"no. you deserve an explanation."

"it's fine." she gave him a tight-lipped smile. her heart was clenching and her breaths couldn't get any shorter.

breathe in, breathe out.

what was happening to her?

"just tell me one thing."

"what is it?"

"were you avoiding me?"

"oh, God, no, Winter. why would you think that? but, no. i wasn't. don't worry."

she stood up.

"okay."

"okay?"

"yeah, okay. see you tomorrow."

"see you tomorrow. i promise."

"i trust you.
