"She was arrested and sent to prison for 21 years on account of the possession, distribution, and creation of various illegal narcotics, child abuse, bribery as she attempted to have sex with the judge for a reduced sentence, and . . ." he trails off for a bit, countenance looking as if he were entranced in some dream. "And?" I ask, willing him to go on. He shakes his head, eyes on mine. "And that's it," he replies as Jason meanders over to us. I get the sense he's lying, but decide not to push it. "See, I'm fine. No need to send the Royal Guard out after me," Jason quips upon his return. Tobias rolls his eyes and locks the door once Jason and Elijah are safely inside the house. "Oh, and Tyler texted me he's coming over today, so yeah," Jason adds, reaching into the fridge for a bottle of water. Elijah races up the stairs. "Sounds like fun," Tobias sighs, leaning against the wall. Jason just nods and follows in Elijah's footsteps.

An hour later, the prophecy is fulfilled as the doorbell rings and standing behind the door is a young boy with freckles on his face, large, round glasses, a big nose, reddish hair, and adorable chocolate, puppy - dog eyes. He appears about Jason's age, leading me to believe that this is the famous Tyler. Tyler smiles up at me. "Hi. Uh, who are you again?" he asks politely. I smile. "Um, my name's Tris. I'm a friend of Jason's father. Speaking of Jason, he's expecting you, so come on in," I invite before he has time to ask how friendly I am with Tobias. The second after Tyler's left foot steps into the house, Jason races downstairs screaming bloody murder and rushes to Tyler, engulfing him in a bear hug. Jason pulls back and raises a hand to his forehead. "Tyler, loyal ally! Darth Vader and Lord Voldemort will spar once more! We must prepare for battle, for in a world of wizards and scary masks, only one can prevail as the true evil overlord. Are you in?" he shouts. Tyler rolls his eyes and ambles after Jason, who, despite his asking, assumes Tyler's response a yes and sprints upstairs. I shake my head, tittering a bit. Tobias emerges from the kitchen, eyes trailing his son. "He may be twelve, but he has the maturity of a six year old," Tobias states, prompting me to laugh. I saunter over to him, arms wrapping around his chest. His back is facing me. "You raised him well," I admit. Tobias shakes his head. "I practically raised him in Candyland, he's so hyper all the time." "You know science proves that sugar highs aren't real. They're just expectations that elicit cognitive biases, which cloud judgment. You think they exist and so, your mind is clouded and acts how it think one would during a sugar rush. Also, since sweets and cakes are bestowed on special occasions, children are already excited," I point out. His hand finds mine. "Okay, Erudite." I roll my eyes. "It's true. He's hyper because he's young and has a lot of energy. Plus, he was raised in a safe and nurturing environment with a loving father and caring friends, so happiness can be added to his hyperactivity." Tobias sighs, eyes observing the the stairway, even though the boys were long gone.

"So, I met a woman at the door," Tyler admits as we are playing War of the Lords, a video game that has every evil character ever. You can pick whoever you want and, like always, I was Darth and Tyler Voldy. Tyler was the only person good enough at this game to beat me, which he did half the time. "Yeah, Tris, I'm guessing?" He nods. "She's my dad's girlfriend. Normally when a woman comes home, she stays the night then leaves. I don't know why. Anyways, this the most serious relationship with a woman besides Christina and Shauna that Dad has had in a long time," I confess. "Do you think she knows?" Tyler asks. "Knows what?" I respond, bewildered. He pauses the game faces me. "About, you know." He makes absurd hand gestures that mean nothing to me. My left eyebrow raises. "Come on! You know, rawr!" At this, he pretends his hands are claws and and makes a semi - scary monster face. Not ringing any bells. Then, Tyler howls loud enough for only me to hear. "Ohhhhhhhh, you mean the thing thing," I answer, understanding. He nods. "Yes, yes! That!" I shake my head. "I doubt Dad will tell her. Heck, your Mom didn't even tell your Dad until after their honeymoon!" I point out. Tyler is unfazed. "Soooooooooooooo that's a no?" Tyler questions. I sigh. "Yes, Tyler. That's a no. I think he's afraid, though." Now Tyler is the baffled one. "Afraid? Your Dad? Of what?" Tyler inquires. "Losing her. I mean, even Margot didn't know. Never found out. You know what we are to society. He probably thinks that would scare her away, and ergo, he's afraid," I explain. Tyler acts like I told him that mirrors can't be real because our eyes aren't. So, basically, it's like I'm Jaden Smith and what comes out of my mouth are his tweets. "I didn't think he was afraid of anything," Tyler confesses. I smile, remembering what my Dad told me when I was younger. "Everybody's afraid of something." Tyler shakes his head, incredulous, and lays down on the carpet.
