January 13 2017: Henry Tibout
(I would start the music here, my lovely humans)
After yesterday's discoveries of the President's affair, Tania and I have been trying to figure out who the mistress could possibly be.
"Well, we can cross off that it's a guy, right?" I started laughing, "Yeah. I don't think the inflections of typing reflect a male persona, so that's off the list." Tania sat there for a moment thinking, every time she was lost in thought she would crinkle her eyebrows together.
She looked up as if a light bulb clicked, "I got it. Okay, so this is a long shot. What if we visit those locations that he's gone to so far in the text messages?" I thought for a moment and realized she was brilliant.
"Okay. I'm up for that but we need to be careful. We can take a train to DC, it's about three hours from here to there." She smiled, content that I followed through with her idea. "Okay, so. Say we do find out who it is. How can we prove it?" Even I didn't know that yet, all we had were messages between the president and his mistress but we didn't have a name yet.
"Well, I guess we'll work that out if that happens." I found my thoughts wandering away from our current conversation.
I've always found Tania attractive, and I loved her spirit. She was amazing. Who wouldn't want this girl?
"...enry...Henry?" I heard her voice slowly fading in. I don't know how long she had been calling me, since I was so lost in thought. "Yeah? Sorry, I got thrown through a thinking hole."
She laughed, "I've never heard someone say that. Anyway, so I found some train tickets online. We can leave tomorrow morning. Is that fine?"
I nodded, "Yeah of course. Let's each pack our things and meet up, here? Or your place?" She bit her lip, thinking about it. "We can meet at my place since it's closer to the station." I escorted her to the door and gave her a quick hug, "I'll see you in a bit."
Before walking out of my apartment, she turned back around and planted a sweet, quick kiss on my cheek. It caught me off guard and I crinkled my eyes with a heartfelt smile. She waved and turned to leave. Ah man, this girl just made my day.
I went upstairs to pack and found myself perplexed by the picture that had been sent to the president, a woman in lingerie. He seemed as if he didn't want the relationship, as if he was being blackmailed into it. Although, he kept up their physical moments, according to the messages, so maybe a part of him did want it.
I packed my bags quickly since we'd only be there for three days, and I booked a hotel online with my frequent traveler points. Awesome. With one last look at my apartment, I locked the windows and closed the shades and took off to Tania's apartment.
When I arrived, I knocked on her door and she opened, gesturing for me to enter. She had on some comfy pajamas and her hair was up in a messy bun. She looked cute like this.
Her apartment was ten times nicer than mine. It had a scent of Fresh Linen candles that were burning, and the sweet scent of her perfume. Photos of her friends and family lined some of the shelves along with some rustic decor throughout her house.
I set down my bags and looked around when she emerged from her kitchen with two glasses of wine. "I didn't ask but I just assumed you might say yes." I gladly took the cup from her hand and clinked it with hers, "To adventures in D.C." She smiled, "To adventures."
We sat in her living room, genuinely getting to know one another for the first time in our friendship that was slowly morphing into something greater.
