Andrew Claxton

There are a few things I've learned in life over this past year.

1. Never ever cheat. It breaks this invisible thing, known as trust.

2. Be kind. You never really understand someone's life until you live it.

3. Love deeply. It's a funny thing to try and do but the end results are greater than anyone could possible imagine.

4. Make friends. Having someone to lean on in the darkest of times is something irreplaceable.

5. Be happy. No matter what it is that you do, be happy and live your life the way you choose to do so.

Yvette and I are still recovering from the Ophelia incident. I think a part of Yvette will never be able to truly forgive and forget my mistakes.

Well, I know that for a fact because we had a conversation about it in our marriage counseling session.

I think Yvette and I love one another but, I also think she stays with me so that Aria and Arielle won't have to deal with a broken home.

Yvette will forever be the love of my life, regardless of how badly I messed things up with her, I just know that we can work through this.

Utter shock is what ran through my mind a few weeks after Tania's and Henry's wedding.

Utter shock, I couldn't move, I couldn't breathe and I certainly couldn't process what was in front of me.

Divorce papers.

"Yvette, what's going on? I thought we were working through things."

Yvette was sitting across the table and didn't even look at me. "Please just sign them."

I scoffed, "How can I sign them when clearly we are not on the same page."

Yvette finally turned her eyes to face mine, full of tears.

"That's the problem Andrew. We haven't been on the same page for a very long time. I can't just forget that you slept with my sister." Her voice broke.

I interjected, "I didn't know she was your sister!"

She rolled her eyes, "The point is you slept with someone else. I have tried everything Andrew. I've gone to marriage counseling, I've smiled and pretended I'm fine but, I can't do that forever. I also need to set an example of being strong for our daughter's."

My heart wanted to beat out of my chest, I couldn't believe what was right in front of me.

"Yvette please, we promised one another that we would work through this."

She sniffled more, she was crying, and I could feel every ounce of her pain. "I promised I would try and, I did. I really did Andrew but, it's too hard. I can't do this."

"Yvette! Keep our family together, don't let it be a broken home."

She scoffed, "It became a broken home the moment you cheated on me."

She stood up angrily and banged her palm on the table, "Why did you have to go and ruin us? Huh? Why? I gave you everything, I even gave you children but clearly my love and our daughter's love wasn't enough for you. Sign the papers by Monday or you'll receive a call from my lawyer."

She stormed off. I had never seen her so determined and livid.

Could I really just sign these papers without a fight? I couldn't let Yvette go. I just couldn't. I'd see the girls less and I couldn't stop loving Yvette.
