Lucy POV
I fell asleep almost as soon as Grayson dropped me off. I didn't realize how tired I really was. The next day I woke up to the sound of Matt's voice. I turned over to complain to Mia when I realized she wasn't there. I peeked outside our suite into the hall and saw Mia and talking to Matt. But she wasn't just talking to him. She was hardcore flirting. I had to keep myself from laughing as I rushed back into my room and tried to comprehend what I just saw. Mia and Matt? Kenzie was going to kill one of them, or both of them. Mia walked back in the room. I tried to fake being asleep but she noticed right away that I wasn't.
"Lucy, I'm not an idiot. What's going on?" she asked me.
"I think I should be the one asking you that. Matt, Mia? Kenzie's brother, really?" I remarked, laughing too hard.
"You can't tell anyone, okay? Not that there is anything to tell. He doesn't like me like that. He thinks we're just friends." She said, sadly.
"Hey, don't say that. He probably does like you and you just don't know it." I tried to make her feel better. She nodded.
"Thanks, but I know there's a slim chance of that happening. Thanks away though." She gave me a sad smile.
"I have to get to the gym, I'll talk to you later though, okay?" She grabbed her bag and walked out the door. I felt bad for her. She deserved a guy like Matt. I spent a little bit of time with him and he seems pretty cool. He was nice and funny and stuff and he and Mia would be perfect together. I sighed realizing I had no plans and it was a Saturday. I texted Grayson and Luke. Luke texted back right away saying that he had a psychical therapy appointment in half an hour so he couldn't do anything. I waited for a response from Grayson for about 20 minutes. I eventually looked back at the conversation to see if I even had sent it, when I realized he read it. He read my text and didn't respond. I texted him again, and he read it, again. I called him and it went straight to voicemail. I decided to walk over to his apartment to see if he was avoiding me or if it was all in my head.
"Hey! You want to do something today, I'm bored out of my mind now that my midterms are over." I said. He looked, uncomfortable.
"Um, I can't today I have stuff going on." He said looking at the ground.
"What stuff?" I asked narrowing my eyes.
"You know, school and stuff." He answered, still unable to actually look up at me.
"Look, you don't have to lie to me. If you don't want to hang out just tell me." I said, frustrated. His head snapped up and he looked surprised.
"What? No! That's not it." He said quickly.
"Whatever, I'm leaving." I said shaking my head. Why did there always have to be drama with us? I hated it. I didn't talk to Grayson for 2 days after that. Then, I started to talk to him again, but I was far from friendly. It wasn't like he was making an effort either though. Everytime I walked past him he would just turn around. He sat on the other side of the room in psych. Luke wouldn't tell me what was going on, I didn't know what to do. The talking we did mostly consisted of awkward hellos. I had no idea what happened to us. The next weekend I was at the coffee shop, talking to Carter.
"I just don't know what happened. Everything was fine and now we aren't even talking to each other." I explained.
"You're too good for him anyway. If he can't see what an awesome person/friend you are, he's an idiot." She said, sincerely.
"Thanks Carter." I said laughing. Another week went by and I still had very little interaction with Grayson. I was starting to get used to it now though. It was still frustrating to me.
