The three days slowly trudged by, but the issue of Grayson had completely slipped my mind. I heard a knock on my door.

"Lucy!" My aunt and mom both screamed, engulfing me in a hug. I hugged them back. They started asking questions and I answered all of them to the best of my ability. Thanksgiving was the next day and we had already made a list of the take out food we would order. IT was a tradition, when I was little and my mom went back to school, she was busy studying over Thanksgiving so she couldn't make anything. Instead she ordered tons of food from like, every take out place around town and that was a dinner. We had done it ever since then.

On Friday we went black Friday shopping. My aunt was in charge of watching the amazon sales on her phone as my mom and I went through every store we could think of finding the best deals.

Saturday rolled around and we were all getting coffee when my mom asked the question.

"When are we going to meet your friends? The ones you talked about who you didn't live with?" she asked. I nervously started stirring my coffee.

"Well, um, actually-" I was cut off by someone behind me.

"You must be Ms.Turner! It's so nice to meet you, I'm Grayson." I didn't even have to look behind me. My mom's eyes got wide and a huge smile appeared on her face.

"It's so nice to meet you Grayson! Lucy's talked a lot about you." I plastered a fake smile on my face. How did he know to come here? Why was he here? I snapped out of it when I heard the conversation.

"So, you play for the basketball team?" My Mom asked.

"Yes, Ma'am" Grayson nodded.

"Why don't you join us?" Aunt Charlotte said, gesturing to the open chair. Grayson looked at me for approval. Even though I saw him look at me, I didn't look back to make eye contact.

"Sure! Thanks for offering." He said sitting down in the seat.

"So Grayson, how long have you been playing basketball?" My mom asked him.

"Since I was 6. I didn't start playing AAU until I was 11 though. I started out in the rec leagues." He explained.

"How'd you and Lucy meet?" My aunt asked him. I was about to jump in, realizing my mom didn't know I had changed majors. He was too fast.

"We met through a friend, Luke. He has systematic inquiries with her this semester." I looked at Grayson in disbelief. I gave him a grateful look, thanking him for not letting anything slip. He smiled back at me.

"Luke? Does he play basketball with you?" My mom asked him. Grayson nodded.

"Yea, he's a sophomore." Grayson said. My mom looked over at me.

"I would love to meet him too, Luce, if that's possible." I nodded in her direction.

"Ms. Turner, Lucy tells me you own a bakery?" Grayson said changing the subject. My mom's face lit up with excitement.

"Yes, I do." She said happily.

"When did you open it?" He asked. I was speechless. I didn't tell him my mom owned a bakery.

"About a year ago. I had always loved baking and I was just waiting for the right time." My mom told him.

"It's really amazing that you were able to start your own business. It seems like it takes so much dedication and determination. It's not an easy thing. It's always been a goal of mine though." He explained.

"What type of business would you like to open?" My aunt asked him.

"Well, it's currently a volunteer thing with a few people back home in Florida and some in Durham. But, it's a program that provides psychological encouragement for young athletes who are unable to get help. Mostly for children with anger management or excessive aggression. " He explained.
