Peter and Aspen immediately rushed over to the computer that was in the center of the main console. On the big screen wall in front of them were the images of all the cameras around the base, and Aspen's eyes graced over them quickly before moving back to the small monitor in front of her.
One the smaller screen was the very first image on the wall, and Aspen clicked the arrow on the right so that it would scroll through every video feed.
"Oh thank god," she heard Tony say from behind her, so she turned to see what the man was doing.
In one of the storage areas of the center room was the man's Iron Man suit, which he quickly pulled out and wiped dust off with his hands.
"It's okay baby, you're okay," he mumbled, patting his hands against the metal.
Aspen rolled her eyes at the man and turned back to the screen, continuing to scroll through in hopes of finding her father.
Tony Stark stepping into his suit and it closed around him, lighting back up and Friday greeting him. It was a relief to all of them that the suit worked now that they were in the base, for now they would have more protection against any enemies coming their way.
"There must be some kind of protective shield on the outside of this facility," Peter said, looking up at the ceiling. "It's actually really impressive that they had the ability to disable all of our tech."
As much as Tony Stark didn't want to agree, he couldn't help but nod, his eyebrows raising. It really was impressive that they managed to do that, but that doesn't make him hate Hydra any less--it actually kind of did the opposite.
"Come on, come on," Aspen mumbled under her breath as she scrolled through page after page of security footage.
Her breath got caught in her throat and her face grew hard when her eyes landed on the next set of live footage. Her mother's body was still lying on the floor in the room they were previously trapped in, and for some reason Aspen couldn't tear her eyes away from the image.
Her mind began to drift, and she started to think about the one thing she didn't want to in that moment: her past.
None of it was real. She had no true memories from her childhood, and every bit of love and admiration her parents showed her never actually happened--especially that from her mother.
"Uh, Aspen?" Peter said, pulling the girl out of her thoughts. She hummed in response and clicked past the video of her mom.
"You might wanna hurry up just a bit..." the girl looked up in confusion at the boys words and the color drained from her face when her eyes met the big screen.
On images of cameras she had already scrolled past, groups of soldiers were running through the hallways in their direction.
Aspen cursed under her breath and looked back down at the computer, moving at a much quicker pace this time.
After a few minutes, without looking up from the screen, Aspen spoke to Peter, "How close are they now?"
"Uh, well..." His voice was such a high pitch that she tore her eyes away from the screen only to see the Hydra soldier piling into the room outside of the glass.
Panicked, she looked back down and clicked so fast she could barely make out the images.
"Found him!" She finally exclaimed.
"Where is he?" Tony asked, stepping forward and putting on the helmet part of his armor.
She quickly pulled it up on the big screen and they all read the description.
